A child's first language development begins in the womb with babbling, followed by their first words which are often "Dada" or "Mummy". Between one and two words, children begin following phonological, syntactic, and lexical norms of their native language. Their language skills continue developing through increased syntactic and lexical complexity and richness. By conversing, children learn problem solving and suggesting alternatives.
