This document summarizes literacy and skills training programs organized in rural communities. The programs bring together about 20 students 2 hours per day, 6 days a week for 7-month sessions to teach rights, health, hygiene, gardening, livestock and administrative procedures. External speakers are sometimes invited to lead sessions. Support is also provided for savings groups and funding small businesses. Protection committees are formed to detect and address cases of violence in communities and conduct information campaigns. The goal is to establish self-sustaining mechanisms by training local authorities and committees.
