Artificial light at night is increasing rapidly due to technology and urbanization, threatening nocturnal ecosystems and human health. Light pollution disrupts circadian rhythms and melatonin production, and has been linked to higher risks of obesity, depression, and cancer. Unless addressed, the overuse of artificial light will continue diminishing our view of the stars and natural cycles of day and night.
