2. History of laser therapy
 Einstein who wrote about lasers in the 1917.
 Lasers where invented later on in the 1960.
 Dr.Endre Master, he conducted an experiment
when hair grew due to the expose of low levels
of laser light.

3. What is laser therapy?
 What laser actually stands for is, “light
amplification by stimulated emission of
radiation.
 Laser therapy is used in the removal of
malignant cells.
 The are different types of laser therapy.

5. Cellular changes
 The laser can produce strong focused heat which is able
to inactivate the DNA and RNA.
 When it comes to laser thrapy, after the 1st day, there is
acute inflammatory infiltrates.
 Since the laser uses heat the cellular changes will be
postulated due to dehydration.
 In day 10th the reparative epithelial process has started
and the inflammatory exudates changes to the histiocytes
and multinucleated giant cell.
 In day 21 the normal intermediate and superficial
squamous cells are found and inflammation is absent.
 Fast proliferation cells are found up to 7 weeks .

 Laser-induced interstitial thermotherapy
 Carbon dioxide laser
 Neodymium:yttrium –aluminium-
garnet(Nd:YAG) laser

7. Advantages
 No surgical incisions
 Quicker recovery rate
 Less side effects
 less damage to normal surround cells
 less infection

8. Disadvantages
 If performed correctly then pain, bleeding,
swelling and scarring will be see.
 The laser produces intense focused heat in the
tissue, inactivating cellular components
including the DNA and RNA, interrupting the
cellular replication process.
 Laser therapy is expensive and requires bulky
equipment.
