The Department of First
Year Engineering has the
facility of the Digital
Language Laboratory. Orell
Talk Language Lab
software provides a
controlled environment for
students to practice
listening, speaking, reading,
and writing in a target
language. The software
includes one teacher
console and 20 student
consoles.
Objectives:
 To enhance students’
proficiency in the target
language, including
listening, speaking,
reading, and writing skills
 To build a strong
vocabulary base by
offering access to wide
range of audio and
written materials
 To help students develop
accurate pronunciation
and intonation in the
language
 To promote effective
communication by
providing opportunities
for dialogue,
conversation practice,
and real-life scenarios
 To improve listening
comprehension skills
through exposure to
various accents, dialects
and real- world
recordings.
 To familiarize
students with the culture,
customs, and traditions
associated with the target
language.
