Kiwis are flightless birds that are native to New Zealand, where they live in forests and grasslands across the country's islands and peninsulas. They have a long beak, are fat birds that cannot fly, and are omnivorous. Kiwis lay large white eggs that are smaller than emus or ostriches but larger than chickens, and they go through a life cycle from egg to hatching similar to other birds.
