Kaskida Yilyok is a radio presenter in Jos, Nigeria with over six years of experience using broadcasting to promote peaceful coexistence. Through his weekly radio show and events bringing together youth from different religious and ethnic groups, he works to rebuild relations damaged by conflicts in the region. Kaskida has a degree in geography and founded an organization supporting youth creative arts to foster understanding for development. He currently moderates poetry events for an organization building reconciliation in the city.

1. KASKIDA YILYOK
JOS, NIGERIA.
As a radio presenter, Kaskida Yilyok has over six years of purposefulcommunity
broadcasting, passing across positive massages especially as centers to peaceful
coexistence within communities which cut across religious and ethnic boundaries to a
listenership base of over 500,000 audiences weekly. Having faced with series of religious
and ethnic disturbances over the years, the city of Jos has suffered developmental setbacks
as a result; Kaskida has identified the challenges of social and relational interaction within
the youths and has therefore been involved in rebuilding reconciliation especially within
youths of the different sects through the setting up of small poetry, musical, and talk
events such as the ‘Platform Radio’ and ‘Talk Nigeria’ in the different neighborhoods of
the city and adding value to the society through his weekly radio show call ‘HIP HOP
Movement’, were rap artiste are drown from different neighborhoods of the city to rap live
on air addressing societal issues to uplift and create a platforms for solution . Kaskida
Yilyok has also volunteered in over five thousand of such initiatives organized by other
individuals and organizations and has been a major voice in youth summits and camps
within the city. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and planning from the
schoolof environmental sciences, University of Jos. He is the founder of THEDNATEST,
an outfit that creates platforms and supportfor youths in creative arts for the aim of
achieving social and relational interaction for a sustainable and effective national
development.
