The 70th RRC has an AR-RAP recruitment goal of 22 new Soldiers by 30
September 2008. As of July 8th, we have accessed 15 of the 22 soldiers,
required to achieve our goal.

Recruiting Assistant Duties
Recruiting Assistants responsibilities:
● Prepare the new recruit for success at BCT or BOLC
● Maintain contact with the new recruit while they are at BCT or BOLC in order to provide
encouragement and support to reinforce the recruit’s decision to join the Army Reserve
● Involve the new recruit in PT to properly prepare them for BCT or BOLC and continuing
to mentor them on life as a Soldier
● Provide support and information to the new recruit and/or their family about the ben-
efits and opportunities in the Army Reserve
● Ask the new recruit if they have friends, family or acquaintances who might be inter-
ested in joining the Army Reserve
Scheduling an Interview with a Nominee
Once a Future Soldier has been nominated into their AR-RAP ac-
count, the Recruiting Assistant will arrange a meeting between the
nominee and the ARCC.They will need to accompany the AR Re-
cruiter and Future Soldier at a parental consent meeting for Future
Soldiers who are 17 years of age. The RA will work with the ARCC
to prepare the nominee for the MEPS and ASVAB appointments,
or any other processing requirements. Recruiting Assistants must update their Future
Soldiers’ status online weekly, noting meeting dates, testing dates, and other progress
toward their contract date. Meetings must be held at the Local Reserve Center or location
other than Army Recruiting Station.

All Soldiers while off duty, including those who are on Active Troop Program
Unit (TPU) Status, Active Guard Reserve (AGR), as well as Retirees of the Army
Reserve with 20 or more years of service and DA Civilians of the Army Reserve
are currently able to participate in AR-RAP.
The AR-RAP online promotional store is where supplies are offered for FREE to assist
RAs with becoming more efficient in recruiting Future Soldiers for the Army Reserve.
• Earn 1,000 credits upon completion of AR-RAP online training
• Earn an additional 1,000 credits for each verified enlistment
Log on to www.USARstrengthstation.com to see the full line of recruiting materials avail-
able to you once you sign up. These are just some of the FREE items that you can order.
Don’t forget, Strength Station credits never expire and all items are completely FREE for
RAs, including shipping and handling fees. You can place 3 orders per month. You will
receive 1,000 credits each time you get PAID for a contract.

Financial Issues
How much do I get paid?
Two thousand dollars ($2,000) for each Sol-
dier recruited to the Army Reserve. 70th RRC
Soldiers have received $28,000 in 2008.
How do I get paid?
Direct deposit into an account of your
choice. Bank ac-
count information
must be provided
during the applica-
tion process.
When do I get paid?
● 1st $1,000 payment paid 14 days after
enlistment.
● 2nd $1,000 payment paid 14 days after
shipment to BCT for Non-Prior Service Sol-
diers, or shipment to BOLC for Officers.
● 2nd $1,000 payment paid for Prior Ser-
vice Soldiers 120 days after successful as-
signment to their unit, and attendance to
a Battle Assembly or training activity in the
last 60 days of the 120 day period.

Cargo SpecialistCargo Specialist
Cargo Specialists are primarily re-
sponsible for transferring or super-
vising the transfer of passengers and
cargo to and from air, land and water
transport by manual and mechanical
methods. Some of your duties as a
Cargo Specialist may include:
Checking, tallying and document-
ing cargo using manual and auto-
mated data processing systems
Loading and unloading supplies
and equipment from watercraft,
docks, beaches, railheads, box-
cars, warehouses, motor vehicles
and aircraft
Operating and maintaining all
types and sizes of winches, cranes
and forklifts
Loading supplies into trucks, trans-
port planes, and railroad cars using
forklifts
Loading equipment such as jeeps,
trucks and weapons aboard water-
craft, using dockyard cranes

Transportation Management Coor-
dinators are primarily responsible for
convoys, bills of lading, scheduling
and securing modes of transportation
of personnel and equipment. Some of
your duties as a Transportation Man-
agement Coordinator may include:
Advising military and Department
of Defense civilians of their en-
titlement for shipment of personal
property and passenger travel
Requesting and coordinating trans-
port capability to meet missions
Marking and labeling cargo and
freight shipments in accordance
with regulatory requirements
Documenting and inventorying
freight, cargo and material ship-
ments of all types
Arranging documentation and re-
ports for follow-up or response to
tracer actions
