1. January 20, 1832<br />Today is the first day of our voyage to America. I can already smell the salty air of the ocean as we depart from the dock. It seems as though there was some confusion on our time of leaving, but no. We will be leaving today come rain or shine.<br />There is only one non-crew member this voyage. Charlotte, the lone young lady, has booked passage with us. She also seems like an obedient child. However, her questioning of Mr. Grummage earlier this day seems to indicate a hint of disobedience. I don’t think she will be a problem though.<br />Zachariah has also boarded. He is a mighty fine cook, though I feel there is something brewing among the crew and he may know more. There is always something brewing when sailors board my ship. I should keep watch of him and be sure to gain his trust, so that I may gather information. However, my trustworthy second mate, will surely tell me what happens aboard my ship.<br />Truly, we shall reach port in due time and I look forward to seeing America and making a swift and safe voyage.<br />Jan.<br />To day is the first day of our trip to America. It is going to be sooooo awesome. WoOt! And so, like there is this girl, Charlotte, she seems nice, but I think she might have trouble getting used to the sea. Ha!<br />Also, I met my cook, Zachariah. Dude has got me covered with his most delicious cookin’. I think he is nice too. And Mr. Keetch, my second mate, is great. He is totally helpful and really works the crew hard. I think I can trust him. But I heard that the crew is scared of me, which is totally awesome! They better be!<br />I really want to get to America on time. I’ll work my men hard so that we get there really soon. Hopefully it will only take like a week. Peace! Yo!<br />
