Joshua 7:1-26 describes how the Israelites were defeated when they attacked Ai after previously defeating Jericho. God revealed that there was sin in the camp, as Achan had taken some devoted items. Joshua had the Israelites come before the Lord tribe by tribe to find the guilty party. Achan confessed to taking a robe, silver, and gold that were devoted to destruction. As punishment, Achan, his family, animals, and possessions were destroyed. The Israelites learned they must fully depend on God and obey his commands to be victorious.

This passage describes a vision Ezekiel receives from God showing the idolatrous practices happening in the temple in Jerusalem. In the vision, Ezekiel is taken by the Spirit to the temple where he sees various forms of idolatry, including people worshipping idols, women mourning the death of the pagan god Tammuz, and men bowing to the rising sun with their backs turned towards the temple. God expresses his anger over his people committing idolatry and filling the temple with unclean images, showing that their priority is on other gods instead of the Lord.

May 5 2019 - Sunday service - 4 Significant Revelations in JoshuaCatherine Lirio
This document discusses 4 significant revelations found in the book of Joshua:
1. Keeping the spirit of conquest alive by making others followers of God.
2. Taking obedience and disobedience seriously to receive God's blessings.
3. Committing to strong unity for success, as the Israelites committed to obeying Joshua.
4. Having faith in God's miraculous help in battles, as seen through events like the stopping of the Jordan River's flow.
This document provides a summary and analysis of chapters 6 and 7 of the Book of Revelation. It describes John's visions of the four horsemen - conquest on a white horse, conflict on a fiery red horse, scarcity on a black horse, and widespread death on a pale horse. It notes that these represent tribulations on earth. The fifth seal shows souls of martyrs under God's altar, crying out for judgment. The document analyzes the symbolism used and connects various elements to other biblical passages. It aims to interpret and provide context for John's apocalyptic visions.

This document provides an overview of visions in the Bible. It discusses several key visions:
1) Moses' vision of the burning bush in Exodus 3, where God calls him to deliver Israel from Egypt.
2) Joshua's vision of "the commander of the army of the Lord" in Joshua 5, where he is commanded to remove his sandals as he stands on holy ground.

The document examines the significance and interpretation of these biblical visions and encourages activating one's own visionary gifts through meditation
The document summarizes a sermon given at First Baptist Church about stone memorials mentioned in the Book of Joshua that the Israelites built to remember God's faithfulness. It describes 7 specific stone monuments erected by Joshua to commemorate events where God helped the Israelites conquer the Promised Land, such as crossing the Jordan River and defeating the armies of Jericho and Ai. The memorials served as physical reminders for future generations of God's mighty acts and his expectation for the Israelites to obey his commands.
The document discusses biblical figures who operated in the spirit of might, including Samson, David, and Jesus. It provides several examples from the Old and New Testaments of these figures' mighty acts performed through the spirit of God working through them: Samson tore a lion with his hands and killed 1000 men with a donkey's jawbone. David killed a lion and bear with his hands as a shepherd and defeated Goliath. Jesus performed many miracles that confounded his enemies and had power over nature, demons, disease, and death. The document emphasizes that true might and power comes from God's spirit, not physical strength.

Jesus is God, not merely a good man, prophet, or lesser deity. He created all things, existed eternally as the Word with God, and became flesh through his incarnation. References throughout the Old and New Testaments identify Jesus as the God who spoke to Moses, protected Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego, and is Creator, Redeemer, and Lord over all time. The document examines passages to support that Jesus is the one true God and should be worshipped as such.

Not unlike the effects of today’s Coronavirus, the older generation of Israel in the wilderness were dying. Numbers 20 begins with the death of Miriam (1) and concludes with the death of Aaron (28, 29). If you were to die today, what legacy would you leave? When was the last time you murmured or complained about something associated with COVID-19? What was your complaint? How did your criticism or complaint change you, your relationship with God and those around you? Why did the Lord send “fiery serpents among the people” (21:6)? What was Moses’ response when he heard their complaints and saw God’s judgment? (7) How should we be like Moses? What was the Lord’s response? (8) Why did Jesus compare Himself to Moses’ brazen serpent? (John 3:14-16) Why do many (sadly most) people refuse to look and live? (8)

Joshua 3-4 describes Israel crossing the Jordan River into the promised land as directed by Joshua. God instructs Joshua to have the priests carrying the Ark of the Covenant proceed into the river, at which point the waters stop flowing upstream, allowing all of Israel to cross over on dry ground. Once across, Joshua has the priests remove 12 stones from the riverbed to serve as a memorial for future generations of what God accomplished.
Isaiah has a vision of God on His heavenly throne surrounded by angels called seraphim. When Isaiah sees the glory and holiness of God, he becomes aware of his own sinfulness. One of the seraphim touches Isaiah's lips with a burning coal to purify him. In response to God's question of who will spread His message, Isaiah volunteers. God then commissions Isaiah to deliver a difficult message to the people - that they will hear God's word but not understand or perceive its meaning. Isaiah is to make the people's hearts and ears unwilling or unable to receive God's message.
Just as the Gibeonites deceived Joshua so Christians today can be deceived and suffering severe deleterious consequences. How can we avoid deception? What lessons can we learn from Joshua's experience?
Joshua told the Israelites to consecrate themselves because the next day the Lord would do amazing things among them. These included stopping the Jordan River from flowing so the Israelites could cross on dry land, collapsing the walls of Jericho when they shouted, and making the sun stand still in the sky to allow more time to defeat their enemies. The Lord also helped Caleb drive out the Anakites from Hebron, as he had promised many years before.

Lucid Dreaming: Understanding the Risks and Benefits
The ability to control one's dreams or for the dreamer to be aware that he or she is dreaming. This process, called lucid dreaming, has some potential risks as well as many fascinating benefits. However, many people are hesitant to try it initially for fear of the potential dangers. This article aims to clarify these concerns by exploring both the risks and benefits of lucid dreaming.
The Benefits of Lucid Dreaming
Lucid dreaming allows a person to take control of their dream world, helping them overcome their fears and eliminate nightmares. This technique is particularly useful for mental health. By taking control of their dreams, individuals can face challenging scenarios in a controlled environment, which can help reduce anxiety and increase self-confidence.
Addressing Common Concerns
Physical Harm in Dreams Lucid dreaming is fundamentally safe. In a lucid dream, everything is a creation of your mind. Therefore, nothing in the dream can physically harm you. Despite the vividness and realness of the dream experience, it remains entirely within your mental landscape, posing no physical danger.
Mental Health Risks Concerns about developing PTSD or other mental illnesses from lucid dreaming are unfounded. As soon as you wake up, it's clear that the events experienced in the dream were not real. On the contrary, lucid dreaming is often seen as a therapeutic tool for conditions like PTSD, as it allows individuals to reframe and manage their thoughts.
Potential Risks of Lucid Dreaming
While generally safe, lucid dreaming does come with a few risks as well:
Mixing Dream Memories with Reality Long-term lucid dreamers might occasionally confuse dream memories with real ones, creating false memories. This issue is rare and preventable by maintaining a dream journal and avoiding lucid dreaming about real-life people or places too frequently.
Escapism Using lucid dreaming to escape reality can be problematic if it interferes with your daily life. While it is sometimes beneficial to escape and relieve the stress of reality, relying on lucid dreaming for happiness can hinder personal growth and productivity.
Feeling Tired After Lucid Dreaming Some people report feeling tired after lucid dreaming. This tiredness is not due to the dreams themselves but often results from not getting enough sleep or using techniques that disrupt sleep patterns. Taking breaks and ensuring adequate sleep can prevent this.
Mental Exhaustion Lucid dreaming can be mentally taxing if practiced excessively without breaks. It’s important to balance lucid dreaming with regular sleep to avoid mental fatigue.
Lucid dreaming is safe and beneficial if done with caution. It has many benefits, such as overcoming fear and improving mental health, and minimal risks. There are many resources and tutorials available for those interested in trying it.

Astronism, Cosmism and Cosmodeism: the space religions espousing the doctrine...Cometan
This lecture created by Brandon Taylorian (aka Cometan) specially for the CESNUR Conference held Bordeaux in June 2024 provides a brief introduction to the legacy of religious and philosophical thought that Astronism emerges from, namely the discourse on transcension started assuredly by the Cosmists in Russia in the mid-to-late nineteenth century and then carried on and developed by Mordecai Nessyahu in Cosmodeism in the twentieth century. Cometan also then provides some detail on his story in founding Astronism in the early twenty-first century from 2013 along with details on the central Astronist doctrine of transcension. Finally, the lecture concludes with some contributions made by space religions and space philosophy and their influences on various cultural facets in art, literature and film.

Chandra Dev: Unveiling the Mystery of the Moon GodExotic India
Shining brightly in the sky, some days more than others, the Moon in popular culture is a symbol of love, romance, and beauty. The ancient Hindu texts, however, mention the Moon as an intriguing and powerful being, worshiped by sages as Chandra.
The Book of Samuel is a book in the Hebrew Bible, found as two books in the Old Testament. The book is part of the Deuteronomistic history, a series of books that constitute a theological history of the Israelites and that aim to explain God's law for Israel under the guidance of the prophets.

there...by every wind of doctrine." They may be downloaded and modified free of charge.
Matthew 10:8 …Freely you received, freely give.
3. Joshua 5:1, Their Hearts Melted
• NAU Joshua 5:1 Now it came about when all the kings of
the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan to the west, and
all the kings of the Canaanites who were by the sea, heard
how the LORD had dried up the waters of the Jordan before
the sons of Israel until they had crossed, that their hearts
melted, and there was no spirit in them any longer because
of the sons of Israel.
• NAU Joshua 2:11 "When we heard it, our hearts melted
and no courage remained in any man any longer because of
you; for the LORD your God, He is God in heaven above and
on earth beneath.
• Joshua 7:5, 1 Samuel 14:16, Psalm 22:14, Matthew 2:3
3
4. Future Hearts Will Melt
• NAS Isaiah 13:1 The oracle concerning Babylon… 4 A sound
of tumult … Of nations gathered together! The LORD of hosts
is mustering the army for battle. 5 … To destroy the whole
land. 6 Wail, for the day of the LORD is near! It will come as
destruction from the Almighty. 7 Therefore all hands will fall
limp, And every man's heart will melt. 8 And they will be
terrified, Pains and anguish will take hold of them; They will
writhe like a woman in labor, They will look at one another
in astonishment, Their faces aflame. 9 Behold, the day of
the LORD is coming, Cruel, with fury and burning anger, To
make the land a desolation; And He will exterminate its
sinners from it [not yet!].
4
5. Joshua 5:2, Flint Knives
• NAU Joshua 5:2 At that time the LORD said to
Joshua, "Make for yourself flint knives and
circumcise again the sons of Israel the second
time.”
• I read about a surgeon who bow hunts and
learn to chip flint arrowheads for hunting. He
used flint knives for surgery on humans. He
said they were sharper and more sterile than
scalpels.
5
7. Joshua 5:5, Wikipedia Says…
• “According to Genesis, God told Abraham to circumcise himself, his
household and his slaves as an everlasting covenant in their flesh, see also
Abrahamic Covenant. Those who were not circumcised were to be "cut off"
from their people (Genesis 17:10–14). Covenants in biblical times were
often sealed by severing an animal, with the implication that the party who
breaks the covenant will suffer a similar fate. In Hebrew, the verb meaning
to seal a covenant translates literally as "to cut". It is presumed by Jewish
scholars that the removal of the foreskin symbolically represents such a
sealing of the covenant.[15] Moses might not have been circumcised; his
sons were not, nor were some of his followers (Joshua 5: 4–7). Moses's
wife Zipporah may have circumcised their son when God threatened to kill
Moses (...kill Moses son - considering Gen 17:14) (Exodus 4: 24–26).”
• This quote “Moses might not have been circumcised” goes against…
• Joshua 5:5 For all the people who came out were circumcised, but all the
people who were born in the wilderness along the way as they came out of
Egypt had not been circumcised.
8. Joshua 5:6, Vineyard
• NAU Joshua 5:6 For the sons of Israel walked forty
years in the wilderness, until all the nation, that is,
the men of war who came out of Egypt, perished
because they did not listen to the voice of the LORD,
to whom the LORD had sworn that He would not let
them see the land which the LORD had sworn to their
fathers to give us, a land flowing with milk and
honey.
• We are entering into the land of milk and honey, I
thought it was interesting that the book of Joshua
does not have one use of the word “vineyard”
8
9. Joshua 5:7, Circumcised
• NAU Joshua 5:7 …they had not circumcised them
along the way. [40 yrs!]
• NAU Joshua 5:8 …until they were healed.
• Gen 34:24…every male was circumcised…25…on
the third day, when they were in pain…
• NAU Joshua 5:9 Then the LORD said to Joshua,
"Today I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt
from you." So the name of that place is called
Gilgal [1537, Gilgal, “rolling,” circle (of stones)] to this day.
9
10. Joshua 5:10, Kept The Passover
• NAU Joshua 5:10 While the sons of Israel
camped at Gilgal they observed the Passover
on the evening of the fourteenth day of the
month on the desert plains of Jericho.
• NAU Exodus 12:6 'You shall keep it until the
fourteenth day of the same month, then the
whole assembly of the congregation of Israel is
to kill it at twilight.
10
11. Joshua 5:12, The Manna Ceased
• NAU Joshua 5:11 On the day after the Passover, on that very day,
they ate some of the produce of the land, unleavened cakes and
parched grain. 12 The manna ceased on the day after they had
eaten some of the produce of the land, so that the sons of Israel no
longer had manna, but they ate some of the yield of the land of
Canaan during that year.
• NAU Exodus 16:35 The sons of Israel ate the manna forty years,
until they came to an inhabited land; they ate the manna until they
came to the border of the land of Canaan.
• NAU John 49, 6:31 "Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness;
as it is written, 'HE GAVE THEM BREAD OUT OF HEAVEN TO EAT.'"
• Nehemiah 9:20, Psalm 78:24, Hebrews 9:4 “golden jar holding the
manna”, Revelation 2:17

13. Joshua 5:15, Sabbath
• NAU Joshua 5:15 The captain of the LORD'S
host said to Joshua, "Remove your sandals
from your feet, for the place where you are
standing is holy." And Joshua did so.
• The captain of the LORD'S host is holy,
commands respect, and receives it.
• “Who is this guy”
• Matthew 12:8 "For the Son of Man is Lord of
the Sabbath."
13
14. John 1
Who Is This Lord Of The Sabbath?
• NAU John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the
Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in
the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being
through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into
being that has come into being. 4 In Him was life, and the
life was the Light of men… 14 And the Word became
flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory
as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and
truth.
• NAU John 8:24 "Therefore I said to you that you will die
in your sins; for unless you believe that I am He, you will
die in your sins."
14
15. Colossians 1
Who Is This Lord Of The Sabbath?
• NAU Colossians 1:16 For by Him all things were created,
both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible,
whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities-- all
things have been created through Him and for Him. 17 He is
before all things, and in Him all things hold together. 18 He
is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning,
the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to
have first place in everything. 19 For it was the Father's good
pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, 20 and through
Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace
through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether
things on earth or things in heaven.
15
16. Revelation 1
Who Is This Lord Of The Sabbath?
• NAU Revelation 1:8 "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the
Lord God, "who is and who was and who is to come, the
Almighty.”… 17 When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead
man. And He placed His right hand on me, saying, "Do not be
afraid; I am the first and the last, 18 and the living One; and I
was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore… [Revelation
22:13-16, …the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last… 16
"I, Jesus…]
• NAU Isaiah 43:10 …believe Me And understand that I am He.
Before Me there was no God formed, And there will be none
after Me. 11 "I, even I, am the LORD, And there is no savior
besides Me. [Titus 3:6 …Jesus Christ our Savior, Titus 2:13 …our
great God and Savior, Christ Jesus,]
16
17. Joshua 5:15, “holy”
• NAU Joshua 5:15 …the place …is holy." …

him in a blazing fire from the midst of a bush… 5 Then
He said, "Do not come near here; remove your
sandals from your feet, for the place on which you are
standing is holy ground.” 6 He said also, "I am the
God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of
Isaac, and the God of Jacob." Then Moses hid his face,
for he was afraid to look at God. 7 The LORD said…
17
18. Joshua 5:15, “holy” qodesh
• NAU Joshua 5:15 …the place …is holy." …

different translations in those eclipses]
18
19. Joshua 5:15, “holy” qodesh
• NAU Joshua 5:15 …the place …is holy." …
• NAU Exodus 3:5 …the place..is holy..
• Where ever “the angel of the LORD”, the
captain of the LORD’S host, is standing is holy.
Even the ground is holy.
• This is never said of an angel, a created being,
only the creator of all things, God.
19
20. Joshua 5:15, “holy” qodesh
• NAU Joshua 5:15 …the place …is holy." …

23. Joshua 6:1, Jericho Walls
NAU Joshua 6:1 Now
Jericho was tightly shut
because of the sons of
Israel; no one went out
and no one came in. 2
The LORD said to Joshua,
"See, I have given Jericho
into your hand, with its
king and the valiant
warriors. 23
25. Joshua 6:1, Modern Jericho

29. Joshua 6:3
March Around The City
• NAU Joshua 6:3 "You shall march around the
city, all the men of war circling the city once.
You shall do so for six days.
• Nelson Study Bible, Page 362, says," The site of
Jericho measured less than half a mile in
circumference, only about 7 acres, so the
march around the city would have been
completed quickly…"
29
30. Joshua 6:4, “seven”
• NAU Joshua 6:4 "Also seven priests shall carry
seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark;
then on the seventh day you shall march
around the city seven times, and the priests
shall blow the trumpets.
• Chapter 6 uses the word “seven” a total of 11
X’s. “seven” is important in this chapter; 7
priests, trumpets, times, days.
30
31. Joshua 6:4
Who Is The Lord Of The Sabbath?
• Joshua 6:4 …priests shall carry… the ark; then on
the seventh day…seven times…
• Matthew 12:8 "For the Son of Man is Lord of the
Sabbath.
• The Lord commanded that;
• The priests lead this battle
• The Ark leads the procession into battle
• The LORD commanded 7 times as much work to be
done on the Sabbath.
32. Joshua 6:10, Silence
• Joshua 6:10 But Joshua commanded the people, saying,
"You shall not shout nor let your voice be heard nor let a
word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I tell you,
'Shout!' Then you shall shout!"
• Revelation 8:1 When the Lamb broke the seventh seal,
there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.
• Psalm 65:1 For the choir director. A Psalm of David. A
Song. There will be silence before You, and praise in Zion,
O God, And to You the vow will be performed.
33. Joshua 6:10, Do Not Shout
• Joshua 6:10 …I tell
you, 'Shout!' Then
you shall shout!"
34. Joshua 6:20, God Tests Our Faith
• NAU Joshua 6:20 So the people shouted, and priests blew the
trumpets; and when the people heard the sound of the trumpet,
the people shouted with a great shout and the wall fell down
flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight
ahead, and they took the city.
• NAU Hebrews 11:30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after
they had been encircled for seven days.
• Usually God tests our faith, and our obedience. It could be as
simple as;
• NAU John 9:7 and said to him, "Go, wash in the pool of Siloam "
(which is translated, Sent). So he went away and washed, and
came back seeing.
• NAU John 3:14 "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the
wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; 15 that
whoever believes may in Him have eternal life.
• NAU 2 Kings 5:14 So he went down and dipped himself seven
times in the Jordan…
35. Joshua 6:20, Trumpet, Shofar

holidays approach - a sales display full of shofars, the traditional
Jewish instrument made of ram's horns!
36
37. Joshua 6:20, Trumpet, Shofar
• Jerusalem Inspiration, “Music has always played a significant role in
the Bible. The earliest instruments are mentioned in the Book of
Genesis (4:21). Moses sings a great song of gratitude after the
splitting of the sea, and Israel sings a similar song after being saved
from peril in the desert (Numbers 21:17). Priests and Levites use
instruments on holidays as well as to signal important meetings for
the camp. Elisha asks for a harpist in order to receive the divine word
(II Kings 3:15). But above all, King David is the musician par excellence.
David is introduced as a singer who would play his instrument to
soothe the soul of Saul (I Samuel 16:23). He composes music, writes
psalms and even invents new instruments to be used in the Temple
(see I Chronicles 23:5). One of the best-known musical instruments in
the Jewish tradition is the 'shofar', or ram's horn. It is blown to
welcome the Jewish New Year (Rosh Hashana)…”

38. Joshua 6:20, Assuming the Worst
by Cregg Puckett
• “A new pastor decided to visit the children's Sunday school. The
teacher introduced him and said, "Pastor, this morning we're studying
Joshua.” "That's wonderful," said the new pastor, "Let's see what
you're learning. Who tore down the walls of Jericho?" Little Johnny
shyly raised hand and offered, "Pastor, I didn't do it.” Taken aback the
pastor asked, "Come on, now, who tore down the walls of
Jericho?" The teacher, interrupting, said, "Pastor, little Johnny's a
good boy. If he says he didn't do it, I believe he didn't do
it." Flustered, the pastor went to the Sunday school director and
related the story to him. The director, looking worried, explained,
"Well, sir, we've had some problems with Johnny before. Let me talk
to him and see what we can do." Really bothered now by the
answers of the teacher and the director, the new pastor approached
the deacons and related the whole story, including the responses of
the teacher and the director. A white-haired gentleman thoughtfully
stroked his chin and said,
• "Well, Pastor, I move we just take the money from the general fund to
pay for the walls and leave it at that."
39. Joshua 6:26, Prophecy Fulfilled
• NAU Joshua 6:26 Then Joshua made them take an
oath at that time, saying, "Cursed before the LORD
is the man who rises up and builds this city Jericho;
with the loss of his firstborn he shall lay its
foundation, and with the loss of his youngest son
he shall set up its gates.”
• NAU 1 Kings 16:34 In his days Hiel the Bethelite
built Jericho; he laid its foundations with the loss of
Abiram his firstborn, and set up its gates with the
loss of his youngest son Segub, according to the
word of the LORD, which He spoke by Joshua the
son of Nun.
40. Joshua 6:26, Prophecy Fulfilled
• NAU Joshua 6:26 Then Joshua made them take an
oath at that time, saying, "Cursed before the LORD
is the man who rises up and builds this city Jericho;
with the loss of his firstborn he shall lay its
foundation, and with the loss of his youngest son
he shall set up its gates.”
• NAU 1 Kings 16:34 In his days Hiel the Bethelite
built Jericho; he laid its foundations with the loss of
Abiram his firstborn, and set up its gates with the
loss of his youngest son Segub, according to the
word of the LORD, which He spoke by Joshua the
son of Nun.
41. Joshua 6:26, Two Jericho's
• NAU Joshua 6:26 … builds this city Jericho; with the
loss of his firstborn…
• The NT clearly shows two first century Jericho’s;
41
42. Matthew 20:29-30
OT or NT Jericho, Two Men
• Matthew 20:29 As they were leaving Jericho, a large
crowd followed Him. 30 And two blind men sitting by the
road, hearing that Jesus was passing by, cried out, "Lord,
have mercy on us, Son of David!“
• Mark 10:46 Then they came to Jericho. And as He was
leaving Jericho with His disciples and a large crowd, a blind
beggar named Bartimaeus [he was the speaker], the son of
Timaeus, was sitting by the road.
• Luke 18:35 As Jesus was approaching Jericho, a blind man
was sitting by the road begging. 36 Now hearing a crowd
going by, he began to inquire what this was. 37 They told
him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by.
• 2 men includes 1, archeology has found 2 Jericho’s, old
and new, close together

45. The Christ in Prophecy Journal, By Nathan Jones
• “Passing through the Judean Wilderness, we
drive by the city of Jericho. With all that room
on the surrounding plain, it's easy to imagine
hundreds of thousands of Israelites marching
around the ancient city walls until they all fell
down (Josh. 6).”
46. The Christ in Prophecy Journal, By Nathan Jones
• “The barrenness of the Dead Sea region with its steep and
rocky terrain covered in veins of white salt is a lonely
spectacle to behold.”
49. Genesis 18:11 Power Is Perfected In
Weakness
• Today is November 7, 2012
• Verse of the Day -- 2 Corinthians 12:9
My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
• God can use our weakness as well as our strengths.
MINI BIBLE STUDY FOR THE DAY
• We tend to think that if we are strong in an area, God could really use us for His kingdom. But the
Bible is full of examples where God specifically used a weakness to show His strength.
• Moses was a poor speaker. Then Moses said to the LORD, "Please, Lord, I have never been eloquent,
neither recently nor in time past, nor since You have spoken to Your servant; for I am slow of speech
and slow of tongue." — Exodus 4:10 Yet God used him mightily as a spokesperson on Israel's
behalf.
• Peter, John and James were hot-headed and impulsive.James, the son of Zebedee, and John the
brother of James (to them He gave the name Boanerges, which means, "Sons of Thunder") —Mark
3:17 Yet God used them to be patient with the building of the early church.
• So rather than look only at your strengths as tools God could use, broaden your thinking to include
ANYTHING God may want to use from your life, including your weaknesses.
• Genesis 18:11 Now Abraham and Sarah were old, advanced in age; Sarah was past childbearing.
50. Joshua 6:26, Foundations Are Important
• Isaiah 28:16 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD,
"Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a tested stone,
A costly cornerstone for the foundation, firmly
placed. He who believes in it will not be disturbed.
• Joshua 6:26 Then Joshua made them take an oath
at that time, saying, "Cursed before the LORD is the
man who rises up and builds this city Jericho; with
the loss of his firstborn he shall lay its foundation,
and with the loss of his youngest son he shall set up
its gates."
