A third of the season gone already,isn’t amazing !!!!!!
I am very happy to report that John Rae came out of Hospital
last Thursday, to start his rehabilitation at home. John still
has the neck brace on, and will probably have to return to
hospital in 4-6 weeks time for surgery. He hopes to continue his
recovery from home, and is even hoping to continue his work
for Channel.7 from there as well.
John remains positive about a full recovery,and has asked me to
thank everyone for their visits, cards and thoughts over the last
10 days - I will continue to keep people up to date with John’s
progress as we get further information.
To continue with the theme of good news, the weather was kind
to us on Sunday, and our annual GALA DAY was a great
success.The soccer was fantastic on the day, and this year’s
winner of the Barry Kelly Memorial Trophy was the U.7 team
from the Rouse Hill Rams.Financially on the day,we did not
fare as well as previous years, but this can be attributed to
the loss of 2 clubs(4 teams) only 3 days out from the event.
Overall, taking the canteen and the raffle into account we made
approx.$2,000 - which still is a great result !!!!!!
I have so many people to thank for the success of the day, so
let’s get started.
Sue and Darlene were once again at the helm of our GALA
DAY, and what a marvellous job you did girls -oi.oi,oi!!!!!
Peter and Mark prepared our fields immaculately, and thanks
to Frank,the two TONYS -Morris and Samuels and Stephen
Lee for the ground work on the day. Stephen also did his usual
great job with the draw and organising refs.
Thanks to all the guys who refed on the day,especially Sam
Dicker, our only junior ref, and poor Ken who injured himself
in his first gig !!!!!!
The canteen was stocked and run efficiently by Kay - well done
again, her whip cracking kept all our parental helpers on their
toes.
Speaking of our U.7/ 8 parents you did a great job in the canteen
and at the B.B.Q -well done as well.
Our soccer committee also did their turn helping as well,
thanks guys.
Geoff Dicker was a great help from electrical problems, to
ground officating and refereeing.
A big hand must also go out to our coaches - Enzo, David, Scott
and Michael for their efforts organising their teams prior to,
and on the day, and they would be lost without their managers
-Irene, Michelle,Paul and Ann Louise.
Thanks also to the organisers fo the Monster raffle and prizes.

I do hope I haven’t missed anyone, but if I did, you know you
did a great job anyway!!!!!!!!!!!
Two last messages this week, remember the dinner / dance
tickets for October are now on sale - they are $80.00 per person,
and are only on sale from LINDA DICKER (orders will be
taken in the Canteen on Wednesday nights at training)please
see Linda.
Finally, the planning for the big FAMILY FUN DAY in July
is well and truely under way. Remember, the date is Sunday
(27/7/08) and we are still looking for corporate and business
assistance, so if you know of anyone who fits that description,
please get them to contact Wayne (0418 436 753) or Geoff
(0412 261 741)
