Editor's Notes
I chose the three colors above to keep with my mantra of direct, clean, and effective because the colors represent cool and clean feelings. The color blue is my favorite, and I feel like it helps to bring some personal touches to the presentation. All of my images are in black and white, and I chose to use white text with blue as my standout color. I chose Athelas as my font due to its many weights and versatility but, even with its variations, it is still easy to read.
This page is the opener, my brand mantra: direct, clean, effective design performance. My brand mantra represents my designing style. I work deliberately, expressing the intent without ambiguity or excess. This photo represents an uncomplicated, clean and modern workspace. This looks much like my workspace.
This is a powerful statement, it is referring to graphic design without labeling it. I feel it is engaging and draws the reader in. I used the image to play off of the word “gift”, giving a physical appearance to it.
This is my introduction. I supplied a picture of myself along with my name and I included my current status as a student of Graphic Design.
This slide is demonstrating my love for art as a child. The picture connects the text the visual because it demonstrates a young girl enjoying painting. This is actually a picture of my daughter painting.
My mother has natural artistic abilities that enabled her to draw, paint, and sculpt pieces that I admired as a child. I wanted to be just like her, and to be able to create as well as she did.
As a child, I was given a sketchpad and art supplies for Christmas. These new supplies led me to learn about them and their uses and effects.
This is an image from the children’s book I wrote and illustrated for my daughter. It is one of many cartoons I have drawn. My favorites were: Animaniacs, Popeye, Chilly Willy, Woody Woodpecker, Dumbo, etc. I would draw constantly.
My aunt owns this business, Golden Pony Tea, and requested I create an image for her to use as a logo. She wanted it to represent their Palomino horse, Shiloh. She is a curly haired horse. The background coloring is actually gold but, due to the theme of this slideshow it is not present here.
