Bob Wian opened a small hamburger stand in Glendale, California in 1936 after selling his car. A young boy who helped sweep the stand in exchange for burgers inspired Wian to name the restaurant's signature burger the "Big Boy". Big Boy Restaurants now sells a variety of foods beyond just burgers such as breakfast, snacks, soups, salads, sandwiches, dinners and desserts at locations across the United States. A. In 1936, Bob Wian sold his prized Desoto Roadster to purchase a small
hamburger stand in Glendale, California.
B. One fan of Bob’s was a chubby six year old boy in droopy overalls. He would
often help bob sweep up in exchange for a free burger. Wian decided to
name the better burger Big Boy.
C. Not only does he sell burgers now he also sells breakfast, snacks, soups and
salads, sandwiches, dinners, Sweet desserts and foot longs.
D. Big Boy is also always looking for team members who are passionate and
enthusiastic when serving others, understand what genuine hospitality
looks and feels like, possess a sincere desire to please, and to understand
all things that are possible with great leadership and team work
