The document describes an interactive virtual 3D animal info book (IV3DAIB) project. The project uses augmented reality to overlay 3D models of animals on markers in a book, along with synthesized audio descriptions. Speech recognition is used to recognize voice commands to control the program. When a marker is recognized, the corresponding 3D animal model, audio description, and wiki information are displayed. The project combines augmented reality, pattern recognition, speech synthesis and speech recognition to create an interactive learning tool for children and students to learn about animals visually and audibly.
