NCBC Resident Utility Meeting - Balfour Beatty will hold a Housing Resident Utility Meeting today at 4 p. m. in the
Training Hall on board NCBC. Come to the meeting and learn more about the Navy‟s RECP program.

Fright Night at the Lake - MWR will host Fright Night at the Lake Oct. 26, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Seabee Lake. Bring the
family for a night of FREE Halloween fun! Find your way through a haunted maze and take a hayride. Test your nerve in
the Fear Factor Stations. Enjoy food, toys, a children‟s costume contest and many more activities for all ages. Volunteers
are still needed. If you can volunteers, please call Kim at 228-871-2251 or Dewayne at 228-871-4042. MWR wants to
make sure everyone arrives and departs the event safely. To avoid traffic congestion, MWR is providing event shuttles
from the Fitness Center, Bldg. 456, 5th Street. Please park at the Fitness Center and MWR's ghoulish staff will assist all
event goers boarding the shuttles. Strollers are very much Welcomed. MWR Thanks all attendee's cooperation.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month - Annually, there are 16,800 homicides related to domestic violence.

Command Assessment Team (CAT) Recruiting - The NCBC command assessment team (CAT) is looking for military
and civilian personnel who are interested in becoming CAT members. Members will receive training in planning and
conducting command climate surveys and also serve as a resource for service members and civilian employees to discuss
concerns about command policy and procedures. If you would like to become a CAT member, please email CS1 Michael

Navy Gateway Inns & Suites Rate Changes - Navy Gateway Inns & Suites appreciates your business. While the rates
are still competitive with commercial rates, increases have had to be implemented. Effective Oct. 1 rates are: Lake House,
1 King Bed: $82/day; VIP Suite, 1 Queen Bed: $75/day; Suite 1 Queen Bed: $60/day; Two Bedrooms/Adjoining

USO to Grant Wishes - The USO would like to once again extend our heartfelt thanks for your continued support and

Fall Bible Study is conducting a six-week study by Jennifer Rothchild, “Missing Pieces.” Free child care is available.

Protestant Services include a Gospel Service at 8 a.m. and Divine Worship Service at 11 a.m. Catholic Services include
Catholic Mass at 9:30 a.m. There is also a Catholic Mass Tuesdays at 11:15 a.m.
~ Seabee Pantry – Donations are always welcome – donation drop-off sites are located at the Navy Exchange, Chapel,

~ Saucier/Success Volunteer Fire Department Haunted Trail & Hay Ride - Oct. 26 and 27 from 7 p.m. until? at the
Success Volunteer Fire Department, 12343 School Road (off of Success Road in Saucier.) Adults $8, Children 10 and
under $3, (bring a can of food for a dollar off). A portion of the proceeds to benefit Saucier Food Bank. Family Fun for All!

~ Habitat for Humanity - Habitat for Humanity is in need of five to 10 volunteers with basic carpentry skills for two

~ Old Biloxi Cemetery Tour - Biloxi Main Street is hosting the 6th annual Old Biloxi Cemetery Tour Oct. 30, 4 –7 p.m.
This event is self-guided so attendees may arrive anytime and witness all eight re-enactments. The opening ceremony
begins at 4 p.m. This year‟s theme, “Honoring our Hero‟s,” features the lives of Biloxians who participated in numerous
wars beginning with the War of 1812 up until the Vietnam War. In keeping with tradition, this is a free public event but
donations are welcome. The tour will showcase history-based reenactments at gravesides delivered by descendants, local
personalities and actors from Biloxi Little Theater and area high schools.
~ 6th Annual Children of Fallen Soldiers Poker Run - The 6th Annual Children of Fallen Soldiers Poker Run will take
place Nov. 3 at 11 a.m., and start and end at the AFMC MS Clubhouse, 11007 Wolf River Road, Gulfport. Registration
begins at 10 a.m. For more information, call 228-342-0205.
~ Civitan Turkey Trot Bridge Run/Food Drive - The Civitan Club will hold their 3rd annual Turkey Trot Bridge
Run/Food Drive Nov. 3 at the foot of the Oceans Springs Bridge on the pedestrian side. Registration is from 7:30 to 8:30
a.m. Runners (minimum age of 11), are asked to donate at least five non-perishable food items or $5 as a registration
fee. The “trot” will begin at 8:30 a.m. A Gobble Wobble for bridge walkers will follow the Turkey Trot. The food drive
ends at 10 a.m. For more information, call the „trot‟ line at 228-219-2238.
~ Long Beach Middle School Veterans’ Day Program - Active duty, Reserve and Retired military are invited to join
the Gulf Coast community for a Veteran‟s Day program at Long Beach Middle School, Nov. 9 at 9 a.m. in the school gym.
The program will feature musical entertainment and a guest speaker. Long Beach Middle School is located at 204 North

~ 12th Annual Gulf Coast Veterans’ Day Parade - The 12th Annual Gulf Coast Veterans Day Parade will take place Nov.
10 at 11 a.m. in Downtown Gulfport. The parade features marching units, honored veterans, bands and much more.
~ 2nd Annual Long Beach Veterans Day Parade and Celebration - The 2nd Annual Long Beach Veterans‟ Day Parade
and celebration will take place Nov. 11. Festivities begin at 1 p.m. with musical entertainment at the Town Green on Jeff
Davis Avenue. After the musical entertainment, the parade begins at War Memorial Park on Church Avenue and continues

~ 2012 Cheryl Griffin Memorial Sleeping Bag Run will take place Nov. 11. Cheryl was a loving friend, mother and
sister. Her dream was to start a “Sleeping Bag Run” for the homeless. The run will leave the Flying J Truck Stop on Canal
Road at 11:30 a.m. to reach Feed My Sheep in Gulfport by noon. Sleeping bag donations are welcomed. Please contact

NCBC Resident Utility Meeting - Balfour Beatty will hold a Housing Resident Utility Meeting today at 4 p. m. in the Training Hall on board NCBC. Come to the meeting and learn more about the Navy‟s RECP program. Fright Night at the Lake - MWR will host Fright Night at the Lake Oct. 26, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Seabee Lake. Bring the family for a night of FREE Halloween fun! Find your way through a haunted maze and take a hayride. Test your nerve in the Fear Factor Stations. Command Assessment Team (CAT) Recruiting - The NCBC command assessment team (CAT) is looking for military and civilian personnel who are interested in becoming CAT members. Members will receive training in planning and conducting command climate surveys and also serve as a resource for service members and civilian employees to discuss concerns about command policy and procedures. The opening ceremony begins at 4 p.m. This year‟s theme, “Honoring our Hero‟s,” features the lives of Biloxians who participated in numerous wars beginning with the War of 1812 up until the Vietnam War. In keeping with tradition, this is a free public event but donations are welcome. The tour will showcase history-based reenactments at gravesides delivered by descendants, local personalities and actors from Biloxi Little Theater and area high schools. ~ 6th Annual Children of Fallen Soldiers Poker Run - The 6th Annual Children of Fallen Soldiers Poker Run will take place Nov. 3 at 11 a.m., and start and end at the AFMC MS Clubhouse, 11007 Wolf River Road, Gulfport. Registration begins at 10 a.m. For more information, call 228-342-0205. ~ Civitan Turkey Trot Bridge Run/Food Drive - The Civitan Club will hold their 3rd annual Turkey Trot Bridge Run/Food Drive Nov. 3 at the foot of the Oceans Springs Bridge on the pedestrian side. Registration is from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Runners (minimum age of 11), are asked to donate at least five non-perishable food items or $5 as a registration fee. The “trot” will begin at 8:30 a.m. A Gobble Wobble for bridge walkers will follow the Turkey Trot. The parade features marching units, honored veterans, bands and much more. ~ 2nd Annual Long Beach Veterans Day Parade and Celebration - The 2nd Annual Long Beach Veterans‟ Day Parade and celebration will take place Nov. 11. Festivities begin at 1 p.m. with musical entertainment at the Town Green on Jeff Davis Avenue. After the musical entertainment, the parade begins at War Memorial Park on Church Avenue and continues to the Town Green. Her dream was to start a “Sleeping Bag Run” for the homeless. The run will leave the Flying J Truck Stop on Canal Road at 11:30 a.m. to reach Feed My Sheep in Gulfport by noon. Sleeping bag donations are welcomed.
