The new five-story high school building will house 450 students from 64 countries and be located across from a future arts and invention center. It will have a double-height gathering atrium to represent the school's common ground curriculum philosophy. Career clusters will be distributed throughout the school to allow students to explore future opportunities. The design organizes curriculum themes by floor and responds to the site context and teacher feedback.

The new five- story High School will be located
across from the future Arts and Invention Center
with an Exterior Learning Passage between the
two buildings. The double height Gathering Atrium
with bleacher steps unifies the spaces and
represents the Common Ground Curriculum
philosophy. A Science Project / Exercise Terrace
for Environmental Science studies and a Reading
Terrace all contribute to a building with a strong
connection to the forest that raises ecological
awareness in students and teachers.
Seven “Career Clusters” are distributed throughout
the school to provide fluid opportunities for students
to explore their future and interact with mentors.

The New High School design for 450 students is
organized by curriculum themes with their
Commons on each floor and responds to the site
context as well as issues raised by teachers in the
ICC Temporary High School Curriculum mapping
workshop. Teachers and students in the ICC
temporary HS will be interviewed after they have
moved in to the ICC, to further calibrate the design
for the New High School.
