- A light hearted look at the issues those who know me will know a more personal and pressing question for me is If we leave the EU does it mean we would be barred from the Eurovision Song Contest?
- Alasdair Rendall, president of the UK Eurovision fan club, who says: "No, we would not be barred. All participating countries must be a member of the European Broadcasting Union. The EBU - which is totally independent of the EU - includes countries both inside and outside of the EU, and also includes countries such as Israel that are outside of Europe. Indeed the UK started participating in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1957, 16 years before joining the then EEC.“ PHEW!!! Got me thinking and I have planned my own Eurovision Song contest for the referendum..... So starting with The Clash....

- Likely to drop – saw what happened overnight when Boris Johnson announced he was back the Vote Leave campaign – 1.29 down to 1.25..... Predictions are that BREXIT would see a decline to 1.14 Reduction in purchasing power – even more of a squeeze on holiday budgets. Winter sports saw a 15% decline in 2008 crisis – are we ready to face a similar drop Experts said the price of airfare and package holidays could increase in a domino effect and UK-based airlines could be put at a disadvantage if a dramatic Brexit occurs Last week, easyJet chief executive Carolyn McCall claimed the cost of air travel could rise, while Peter Long, the former head of TUI, the world’s largest tour operator, suggested a Brexit could compromise the safety of Britons abroad as close ties are needed to thwart or respond to acts of terrorism. Willie Walsh, chief executive of International Airlines Group, which owns British Airways, has already voiced his support for the 'stay' campaign, saying he is in favour of the UK remaining in a reformed EU. It is Walsh's personal opinion, as neither IAG nor British Airways has taken a side. Price Tag!

- Passenger rights (denied boarding/ delays etc;) would be removed UK would need to add them into UK law or passengers would no longer have the same rights....
- Or in your chalet hosts case probably a bit more.... If the UK left the EU would UK citizens need special permits to work in the EU? A lot would depend on the kind of deal the UK agreed with the EU after exit. If it remained within the single market, it would almost certainly retain free movement rights allowing UK citizens to work in the EU and vice versa. If the government opted to impose work permit restrictions, as UKIP wants, then other countries could reciprocate, meaning Britons would have to apply for visas to work. However we may need to set up companies in each country and pay more taxes locally.....all = higher holiday prices....potentially death of the catered chalet – only need to look at what happened in Switzerland....

- The UK Independence Party, which won the last European elections, and received nearly four million votes - 13% of those cast - in May's general election, campaigns for Britain's exit from the EU. About half of Conservative MPs, including five cabinet ministers, several Labour MPs and the DUP (Ireland) are also in favour of leaving. (coincidence that thy all look angry...) EU not perfect Better to be in it than outside.... And finally........
- David Cameron wants Britain to stay in the EU, now he has got some powers back from it. Sixteen of his cabinet also back staying in. The Conservative Party has pledged to be neutral in the campaign - but the Labour Party, SNP, Plaid Cymru and the Lib Dems are all in favour of staying in All TO’s I have read about/spoken with want to remain..... The Bank of England is this week set to publish growth forecasts that may warn about the impact of the UK leaving the EU. Governor Mark Carney has already expressed his concern at this prospect. The list of worthies worried about Brexit is becoming ever longer. The latest flush includes ex-bosses of the spy services and Pierre Moscovici, the EU monetary affairs commissioner. At this rate - Vote Remain may soon have to go off-world to find leaders who have not already declared for it. With the following suggested headline suggested headline
- FT - Darth Vader warns Brexit would harm trade with Galactic Empire So to answer the question: "Should the United Kingdom remain a member of the European Union or leave the European Union?" I believe for me and for tour operators who have a large part of their business within the EU the answer is I think the winning song comes from Kylie Minogue... Better the devil you know......
