1) Alex Smith is a shy and individual person starting his first day at a new college after his parents' recent split. He collects his schedule and planner from the receptionist. 2) The receptionist provides Alex with his planner, which contains information about the academy, and his timetable, which shows his first class is math in the D block. She directs him to the correct building. 3) Alex thanks the receptionist and heads to his first class, feeling edgy and depressed about the changes in his life but hoping to enjoy his education at the new school.

EXT. CITY ACADEMY CAR PARK
- MORNING
Panning across the carpark, following Alex as he walks
towards the Academy Entrance.
NARRATOR
This is Alex Smith; A very shy, and
individual person with a gift, a
gift that no-one else has. But
we'll come back to that later.
It's his first day at this new
College, The City Academy. His
parents have recently split, so he
is very edgy and depressed. Oh and
did i mention that he's short?
Alex slows down, opens his bag, pulls out a letter and
starts reading it to himself.
ALEX
(Whispers)
Dear Alex Smith ... Look forward to
seeing you on Monday the 12th of
October ... Go straight to
reception and collect your things
to start your day
INT. CITY ACADEMY RECEPTION
- CONTINUOUS
Alex walks up to the reception desk where a rather large and
strange looking woman is looking at him with a smile on her
face
ALEX
(Shyly)
Hi, I'm Alex Smith, I'm new here
He gazes around the room, with a look of awe on his face
RECEPTIONIST
(Peacefully)
Ah i see. Welcome to The City
Academy, Alex; I'm certain you'll
enjoy your education here. Just
wait one moment while i collect
your planner and timetable
The Receptionist gets up and walks through a room at the
other end of the reception. Alex stands very still.
A FEW MINUTES PASS

The Receptionist returns back with a book and a piece of
paper.
RECEPTIONIST (CONT'D)
Right Alex, here is your planner.
This is your guide to the Academy,
it will tell you everything you
need to know. Also this is your
timetable; it looks like your first
lesson is Maths in the D block
The Receptionist points to the way towards the D Block
Alex nods his head as the Receptionist directs him
RECEPTIONIST (CONT'D)
Just continue down this corridor
and go out of the door on the left,
The D block is the building
directly in front of you.
ALEX
Thank you very much.
Alex smiles and walks down the corridor.
