The design of an iPhone app to promote MassArt's industrial design department. The result is a social software application that enables users to stay updated with news and events from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design's industrial design department. Users may also use the application to browse the portfolios of students from this department. A functional prototype was developed with help from the Coroflot.com team. The app was used by faculty and students during the 2009 IDSA North-East Region Conference.
This document discusses the various digital tools and software the author used to create a magazine project. It describes using Photoshop to edit images, setting up a blog using Blogger to receive feedback, and uploading videos to YouTube. Animoto was used to create a magazine pitch presentation. Other programs mentioned include Picasa for slideshows and Google Drive to upload documents. The author also discusses downloading fonts from dafont.com and taking photos with a camera to include in the magazine.
Grigor Khachatryan is an Armenian artist born in 1952 in Yerevan. He graduated from the PIY Art and Culture department in 1985. Since then, he has worked in various roles such as head of the department of exposition at the Museum of Modern Art from 1985-1987, and as an art editor and art leader for television companies. Khachatryan is known for his performance and action artworks from the 1970s onwards that often comment on social and political issues. He has exhibited widely in Armenia, Russia, Austria, Germany and other countries.
The design brief was to design a new portable backpack cooking stove, utilizing alcohol or propane gas and incorporating an existing sports brands' language. I chose to design a mountaineers stove for the Black Diamond brand. As well as incorporating the brand language of Black Diamond into the final design, I also looked at an innovative solution to a problem mountaineers have with existing gas canister stoves.

In 1990, he began awarding the "Grigor Khachatryan Award" to cultural figures, which involves having them lift him as the prize. He has had numerous performances, writings, and exhibitions both nationally and internationally since the 1970s. In 2008 he established the "Accidents Planning International
Cloning involves producing genetically identical individuals, copies of DNA, cells, or organisms through biotechnological processes. There are two main types of cloning: reproductive cloning, which generates an animal with the same nuclear DNA as another through somatic cell nuclear transfer; and therapeutic cloning, also called embryo cloning, which produces human embryos for stem cell research to study development and treat disease by extracting stem cells from a blastocyst before the embryo is destroyed.
Action research focuses on addressing immediate practical problems through collaboration between researchers and practitioners to create organizational change while studying the process. It aims to develop shared understanding by triangulating information from stakeholders and assuring respondent safety through quality steps in an ongoing process with clearly defined objectives and stakeholder buy-in.
The brief for this project was to design an electrically mechanized kitchen appliance. The design approach of the elahuaca guacamole mixer was not to create yet another kitchen appliance, but to create a piece both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The final design's flowing form and use of natural materials (ceramic, glass, steel) add a modern contemporary spin on the traditional Mexican molcajete and tejolote.
