Students at Jamestown Elementary School in Arlington, Virginia and Willowdale Elementary School near Omaha, Nebraska have been creating podcasts of their poems, book reports, interviews, and recordings of field trips. Teachers have found that having students create podcasts motivates them to research better, read more, write better, and better understand course material. Podcasts created by students are not only humorous with music but also educational, containing important facts. Teachers hope future classes will listen to the podcasts as supplemental curriculum material.
