Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).

sobretudo, porque a defesa dos interesses económicos e até politicos dos Estados, têm imposto sempre, em
maior ou menor grau, a adopção de medidas que lmitam a lvre circulação de pessoas e mercadorias entre os
vários países. Os fatores naturais de produção, necessariamente ligados a um espaço geográfico, não se
deslocam. Os trabalhadores só recentemente estão vencendo com relativa facilidade, pela rapidez dos
transports e por um melhor conhecimento dos ambientes estranhos a relutancia em procurer colocações for
dos paises de origem, mesmo assim, não parece pratícável, por exemplo, deslocar os excedentes
demográficos da China e da India para os centros europeus onde escasseia a mão – de – obra. Принцип

6. O complexo funcionamento das alfandegas constitui matéria que suscita análises de índole diversa; entre
elas a de ordem jurídica. Mas aqui interessa-nos considerar tão somente aqueles aspetos indispensáveis
ao entendimento do papel que as alfandegas desempenham nos quadros da economia internacional.

exportção. De tal modo qe quando se elevam as
pautas de exportação a venda de mercadorias no
estrangeiro pode tornar-se impraticável, porque a
que essas mercadorias teriam de ser vendidas
afastariam toda e qualquer procura: em termos
paralelos e alias mais frequentemente, quando se
elevam as pautas de importação, os bens
provenientes do estrangeiro, muito encarecidos,
dificilmente encontram colocação nos mercados
internos. E disso resulta ou uma cotracção de
consumes ou um acréscimo de vendas dos
produtos nacionais similares.

o território de um Estado. Assim , a Bélgica, os Países Baixos e o
Luxemburgo constituem um único território aduaneiro, O principado de
Mónaco está incluído no território aduaneiro francês, cada Província
Ultramarino portuguesa constitui um território aduaneiro, com o seu regime
alfandegário próprio e pautas que não coincidem com as metropolitanas.

• Relativamente a determinado territorio aduaneiro pode adopter-se um Sistema unico ou de pautas
múltiplas. Pelo Sistema de pauta única aplica-se uma só taxa de imposto a cada mercadoria , seja qual
for a sua origem ou a forma como se apresenta na linha aduaneira. Um relógio de ouro por exemplo,
pagará 5 euros de imposto , seja qual for o pais de origem, quer seja importado por um comerciante ou
por um particular, isoladamente ou juntamete com outras unidades. Pelo Sistema de “ pautas múltiplas ,
a mesma mercadoria será tributada diversamente, conforme a origem ou conforme as condições de
importação .Assim, á importação do relógio de ouro poderão aplicar-se, alternativamente , taxas
diferentes. ( Modulares e variáveis quantitavas=. O Sistema de pautal mis generalizado , quanto a
importação, é o das pautas múltiplas , que tambem poderá designer-se de pautas duplas, pois que a
alternativa respeita, para cada mercadoria , a duas taxas , uma máxima e outra minima .) As taxas
máximas aplicam-se às mercadorias importadas de países que náo beneficiam de uma “prferencia
convencional” , explicando brevemente , resultante de convenções internacionais de tratados de
com´rcio. As taxas minimas aplicam-se às mercadorias provenietes de paises que benefiiam daquela
preferencia e ainda aquelas mercaodrias relativamente as quais se verifiquem diversas circunstancias ,
tais como , a titulo exemplificativo , serem trazidas na bagagem dos passageiros que atravessam a linha
aduaneira.
