At release the Amityville Horror (2005) by MGM made the most money at the
box office and went to 3323 cinema screens, this was more screens than any
other horror films released in that period. This was a remake that was originally
released by AIP in 1979, this older version is the second biggest earner at release
although at that time it only went to 748 cinema screens, it was clearly a very
popular horror movie and made money for both film studios.
But Snoop Dogg’s hood of horror(2007) didn’t do every well at all, released by
the Xen. Studio it only showed in 117 cinema’s which is the lowest of it’s release
time, it only made $25,900 on the time of its release and didn’t increase sales in
box office or after the cinema relase.
