INITIAL IDEAS
PLOT
• The plot of the film is not revealed to the viewer in the opening of what the viewer sees
has very little dialogue and almost no motive for the actions within the film. What will be
shown is only a man and a woman, both looking mysterious yet intriguing, walking into a
village not speaking at all. We see them enter the village, much to the terror of the
villagers who seem to know something about them that the audience does not. The only
piece of dialogue is spoken; “They‟re here”, before the villagers turn away and go inside
to their homes. We see the two continue until they come to an abandoned playfield where
we see that a zombie-like creature is lurking about. The zombie tries to attack the two but
is shot down by the woman. Upon doing this action we see that the man and woman are
actually vampires, hence explaining the fear of the villagers.
CHARACTERS
• The two main characters will be dressed in Goth and Punk clothing, to make an appeal to
the modern audience. The Man‟s face will be obscured by Aviator sunglasses that will
cover most of his face (to protect the secret of his red eyes). The Woman will also not talk
or emote with her mouth to hide her vampire teeth. Both the Man and the Woman will not
emote so that they seem unnatural in their environment.

• The villagers will be dressed in stereotypical „farmer‟ clothing, they will also be the only
people in the whole movie to speak dialogue.

• The Zombie will be dressed in bloodied clothes and will portray stereotypical actions of a
zombie (the slouch and the mumbled groans), he will also portray new features appearing
in recent zombie films (such as Zombieland) in which he will be able to run.
SETTING
• The setting of the film will be set in a quiet village where most of the inhabitants seem to
be living in constant fear. This is referencing a stereotypical Horror movie setting used
especially in the Hammer Horror films of the 1970s. The setting is a quiet place which will
be to our advantage at creating a creepy atmosphere, this plus the fact that the main
characters never speak will also add more tension to the scene.
• The playfield is a wide open space with few playground apparatus there, which adds to
the effect that it has been abandoned. The use of a long swing that is still swinging
creates a creepy effect that is a common theme that is used in many classic and
    contemporary horror films.
PROPS
• Few props shall be used within the sequence as most of the mystery and atmosphere is
down to what the viewer doesn‟t see. The Man shall be wearing Aviator sunglasses to
cover most of his face as well as a long black coat with the collar turned up, to give a
gothic effect. He shall also be needed to wear red contact lenses to achieve a demonic
effect. The Woman shall have on her a realistic toy gun (used to shoot the Zombie) as
well as vampire teeth. The villagers will be seen with stereotypical clothing such as flat
caps and wellingtons, as well as pub beverages.
• The Zombie will be wearing a bloods-stained shirt and make-up to make the person
appear decayed to a degree. Face paint will be added to the sides of the face as well as
bloodstains on the arms and face/neck.
CAMERA & EDITING
• Different types of camera angles will be used to focus the audience‟s attention on the
main characters. Different close-ups (medium, extreme) as well as two-shots will be used
so that we see plenty of the Man and Woman. Long shots will also get used to show us
the two of them in full detail and to show us the costumes and styles that they sport.
Different OTS (Over-The-Shoulder) shots will be used to see both the Man and Woman
    from their own perspectives.
• OTS shots will also be used when the villagers are looking at the two, long shots shall
also be used here to emphasis the fact that the villagers are keeping their distance from
    the Man and Woman.
• Extreme Close-Ups will also be used on the faces of both the villagers and the Male to
express surprised and fearful emotions. Features of this may be mouths twitching, raised
    eyebrows, widened eyes, etc.
