The UN envoy warns that the country risks sinking into chaos.
The UN special envoy to Iraq told politicians in the country which should
advance the formation of a government or risk sinking the country into
chaos.
Nickolay Mladenov said in a statement that failure to elect three key
government positions: president, prime minister and speaker of parliament,
only benefit the interests of those who seek to divide Iraq.
World powers urged Iraqis to join the movement against the Islamic State
(ISIS), which has managed to take control of large areas of the country
politicians.
It is expected that the Iraqi parliament meets on Sunday.
