Indonesian youth, known for their optimism, have shown remarkable resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic. This optimism, captured in the cultural phrase "Ambil hikmahnya" (look at the good side of things), has driven young people to initiate various philanthropic movements such as emergency kitchens for the jobless and sanitary facilities in public spaces. However, the high social power distance in Indonesia often leads youth to repress their fears and anxieties, exacerbating mental health issues during the pandemic.
