- Good morning everyone. I am very pleased to have all of you here for this presentation. I hope everyone is doing well today. We are going to discuss social media/new media and why you should implement it into your marketing strategy. I hope you all go away from this presentation with a lot to think about and consider. There are so many benefits to adding social media to your marketing strategy but there are also negative aspects that you should be aware of. However the benefits outweigh the negative aspects. Lets begin.
- Like I said we are going to talk about the emergence of social media. The social media landscape and the benefits and negative aspects of implementing social media into your current marketing strategies.
- As you can see social media is a very big part of the marketing scene at this time and it is expected to grow at alarming rates. If you do not begin a social media campaign now you are more than likely going to be left behind. Every corporation is going to have to use some form of social media in the future to reach prospective customers. A very large majority of consumers are mobile as well.
- The two most important items on this list would be blogs and social networks. Blogs keep consumers up to date regarding what is going on behind the scenes in your company, what products you are offering, and to show that you have a human side to your corporation. Social media audiences like to know that there are real people behind the scenes not afraid to show their human side. They want to know that they can ask questions, leave comments, and even leave negative comments wanting responses. Consumers do not want generic responses. They want to talk to a real person. They want to know that the company really cares about their comments and concerns. The next item would be social networks. Facebook is huge right now and Twitter is right behind it. This is where word of mouth comes in. People can “like” your products or follow you. If they have good experiences with your company they will pass it on. Keep in mind that on the internet millions of people can be reached in a matter of seconds. It is very important to keep the lines of communication open. You should know what people are saying about your company and your services and brands. News spreads very quickly on the internet.
- As you can see from this image; the social media landscape is limitless. There are so many ways to get your message out there. Facebook and blogging along with Twitter are the most influential social media that is out there at this time.
- These are just a few of the benefits that social media can bring to your company.
- Keep in mind that you should always be transparent in your communication with your customers.
- Social media benefits outweigh the negative aspects very much so.
