El pasado domingo 12 de marzo, tuvo lugar una de las más importantes fiestas deportivas que se dan cita en el Polígono Sur, como es la carrera popular organizada por la Asociación Entre Amigos y el Distrito Sur de Sevilla. El CEIP Manuel Canela tuvo una importante representación por parte del alumnado y de algunos maestros, los cuales pudieron disfrutar de un bonito día de domingo practicando actividad física. A la finalización de la carrera se obsequió con regalos a todos los participantes. ¡Os esperamos para el año que viene, no faltes!

El alumnado del Primer Ciclo ha realizado el taller "Zacarías va a la escuela", actividad enmarcada dentro del Programa educativo del Museo de Bellas Artes de Sevilla, donde Marina García nos ha presentado su libro "Revuelo en el Museo", cuento infantil con el museo de Bellas Artes de Sevilla como escenario. Una preciosa historia que acerca a los más pequeños a la pinacoteca de la ciudad. Primero, han montado un museo en la biblioteca del centro. ¡Qué entretenido ha sido! Había que estar atentos, observar, descubrir, participar… ¿Y a quién no le gusta eso? Casi nadie conocía la mayoría de los cuadros que tenían en sus manos pero estuvieron encantados con la actividad y se divirtieron un montón. Después de contar el cuento de “Revuelo en el Museo” y conocer muchas de las pinturas del Bellas Artes, su imaginación se disparó. Sólo había dos consignas: pintar dentro del cuadro blanco y utilizar rotuladores negros y rojos. Algunos se inspiraron en las pinturas del Museo de Bellas Artes que acababan de conocer. Otros contaron o inventaron lo que les apetecía. Cada uno se expresó libremente… ¡y el resultado fue maravilloso! Aquí les dejamos una pequeña muestra de lo que ha sido.

El alumnado del tercer ciclo ha visitado la feria del libro. El programa educativo comenzó con un espectáculo poético-musical basado en la biografía novelada “Cervantes, el soldado que nos enseñó a leer”, escrito por María Teresa León. Después, continuaron en el Salón de Actos de Cajasol con un espectáculo de animación a la lectura, basado en el libro “El Quijote de la Mancha”. Finalizaron con un recorrido por el propio recinto de la Feria del Libro, visitando las casetas de los expositores, permitiendo entrar en contacto con el mundo del libro y con el sector de librerías de la ciudad.

Las clases de Educación física, pueden tender a la rutina si no se incorporan nuevas prácticas, nuevos materiales, etc. En los últimos años, se han ido incorporando una serie de nuevos contenidos dentro del área de Educación Física. Uno de estos contenidos son los juegos y deportes con material alternativo construido. Por ello, el alumnado del tercer ciclo ha construido sus propias indiacas con bolsas de plástico, reutilizando así el material. Finalmente, han realizado diferentes juegos y se lo han pasado genial.

JUEGOS CON MATERIAL RECICLADO "INDIACAS".

El proyecto "Por tu cara bonita" celebra el primer año de su puesta en marcha promocionando la salud. Cinco colegios del Polígono Sur de Sevilla, sus escolares, familias, profesorado, profesionales de la salud y asociaciones trabajan, uniendo fuerzas y recursos, para conseguir entre todos y todas que disminuya el problema de las caries en edad infantil en nuestro barrio. En su primer año, se ha desarrollado un conjunto de actividades dentro y fuera del aula para prevenir enfermedades bucodentales y promover una alimentación sana y hábitos saludables como el cepillado dental diario. Se han homenajeado mediante un encuentro lúdico-educativo a todas las personas que lo están haciendo posible, especialmente a los niños y niñas de 1º y 3º de Educación Primaria y a sus familias. ¡Por una boca sana!

CIERRE DEL PROGRAMA "POR TU CARA BONITA"

Hoy, 23 de junio, nuestros alumnos y alumnas de sexto de Educación Primaria se han graduado en un sencillo y emotivo acto en el SUM. Asistieron al mismo la Dirección del Centro, los profesores, padres, madres, familiares y amigos. Tras los conmovedores discursos y la entrega de diplomas, los asistentes se sorprendieron con un bonito vídeo de despedida. Nuestros querido alumnado ya forma parte de la vida de nuestro centro. ¡ENHORABUENA Y MUCHA SUERTE A TODOS!

In BC’s nearly-decade-old “new” curriculum, the curricular competencies describe the processes that students are expected to develop in areas of learning such as mathematics. They reflect the “Do” in the “Know-Do-Understand” model. Under the “Communicating” header falls the curricular competency “Explain and justify mathematical ideas and decisions.” Note that it contains two processes: “Explain mathematical ideas” and “Justify mathematical decisions.” I have broken it down into its separate parts in order to understand--or reveal--its meaning. The first part is commonplace in classrooms. By now, BC math teachers—and students—understand that “Explain mathematical ideas” means more than “Show your work.” Teachers consistently ask “What did you do?” and “How do you know?” This process is about retelling, not just of steps but of thinking. The second part happens less frequently. Think back to the last time that you observed a student make—a necessary precursor to justify—a mathematical decision. “Justify” is about defending. Like “explain,” it involves reasoning; unlike “explain,” it also involves opinion and debate. In order to reinterpret the curricular competency “Explain and justify mathematical ideas and decisions,” I will continue to take apart its constituent part “Justify mathematical decisions” and carefully examine the term “mathematical decisions.” What, exactly, is a “mathematical decision”? Below, I will categorize answers to this question. These categories, and the provided examples, may help to suggest new opportunities for students to justify.
