WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT
THING THAT YOU WOULD LIKE US
TO KNOW THAT IS NOT IN YOUR
RESUME OR APPLICATION?
I love challenging myself, exploring and
learning new things. I believe that helps me
to widen my horizon of thinking, discover
more people and cultures, recognize my
blind spots and to just grow as a person.
This is reflected in previous
activities I have been engaged.
The next slides will demonstrate
some of them.
I took this picture when I was a part of a street
photography walk. While we were walking in the
old town of Addis Abeba and taking photos,
I found these yellow background frame you see. I
really liked the frame hence I decided to challenge
myself. I stopped following the group and stayed
at the place to wait for a person to come in
naturally to the frame and take a shot. I started
taking pictures but the perfect shot happened after
one hour waiting's when the priest who was just
passing by the pedestrian way somehow turned
around randomly and I got it in the shot. It seems
like I actually asked the person to stand for me. In
the end, the challenge was rewarded with an
interesting photo.
Some more pictures I took!
That is a face and energy after I
won an election to be local
chapter president of AIESEC in
my university after 2 months of
preparation, an intense
assessment week and final
speeches before members
casted a vote. That year turned
out to be one of the most
amazing year of my life where
my limits tested continuously ,
experienced a lot, won many
wins and lost some battles but
grow immensely over all.
Yes, in AIESEC tradition, you know you got it when a water
bucket is poured at your head. It is not ice bucket challenge.
POLAND – At the highest hills of Kraków
just after finishing attending an international
youth conference where delegates from 100+
countries came. It was amazing experience to
interact with delegates from diverse
professional and cultural background. This
experience was unique also because I struggled
to be able to attend the conference. I had to
find a sponsor to cover my travel expense and I
had to get my Passport and visa issued twice as
I unfortunately, lost my passport after visa was
issued initially.
India - Dining at
Chinese restaurant
together with friends
from China, Spain and
India.
Even though Chinese food was strange to me
generally, eating a sea squirt was the hardest
part as I grow up in a very conservative
Ethiopian family where eating these kind foods
is a taboo.
In Kenya , I was
doing high rope
activities where
I was able to
fight my fear of
height.
