Identifying the Inquiry and Stating the Problem.pptx

Editor's Notes

  • #2 In this module, there are 6 major topics that we will be discussing. And I will try to discuss this as clear, condense and summarize.
  • #3 You have learned from Module 1 that quantitative research is very useful in all fields of study because of its objectivity and fast data collection and analysis. The different kinds of research designs (descriptive, correlational, ex-post-facto, quasi-experimental, and experimental) offer a viable and numerous options for any type of inquiry. The field of studies where you can apply quantitative research is practically countless
  • #4 This activity will help you identify what topic fits you. And when you answer this questions, and then from here, we were able to make a title.
  • #5 For these activity, we were able to create a title
  • #6 Later on, on our discussion, you will know bakit importante na dapat kilala niyo ang sarili niyo or you know what your interests are before you take this research. Which is later on ieexplain natin yan. So these are the titles that we were able to generate based on the questions we answered.
  • #7 Another way for you to come up with a title, is to do preliminary research, or some sort of online or offline survey na pwede mong gawin within your community. Ano ba yung mga problems na gusto nilang bigyan ng solutions and there makakagenerate ka ng idea sa pwede mong maging study.
  • #9 When you develop a research topic, I want you to think about the principle of the blue ocean. In fact there is a book written about it titled “Blue Ocean Strategy”. Ano ba ang ibig sabihin nun? When you see an ocean, it look like endless, na para siyang walang hangganan. Lalo na kapag nakapagtravel kana, and then you are in the middle of the sea, hindi mo na Makita yung next na island. And with the concept of the blue ocean strategy, it eliminates some of people’s thinking parang when I think of a research, eh meron nang gumawa nun eh, pano kaya yun? Adopt a concept of the blue ocean strategy, despite the advancement of knowledge and technology, there are still a lot of things to be discovered. So yun yung isipin mo. Yes that’s true, but, you can still explore a lot of things even those topics that are already made or common.
  • #10 Ito yung isa sa mga gusto kong iclarify, kasi yung mga teachers, they are telling students, “When you create a research topic or research title, you need to be specific”. That is true. However, when you start, you have to start broad, think of it na para siyang pyramid or inverted pyramid. Magsisimula ka sa taas which is broad, then as you go downward, mas magiging specific. The goal is to create a specific title, so kailangan mag umpisa siay sa broad. And then through the survey, the assistance of the panellists, it will be refined hanggang sa maging specific research na siya. This is tied on our first activity, which is all about you, ano ba yung interests mo, what makes you happy, where do you excel. Bakit important yun? If you are not interested in a specific topic, you will not be motivated to finish your research. B. So dapat yung topic na pipiliin mo, mayroon siyang ambag, may sense. A topic that is worth researching. Must be able to solve problems in the community. Kapag naipursue yung research mo, eh madami ang makikinabang. No one will be interested in your topic kung luma na siya, unless kung historical research ang pag aaralan mo. Pero for all, it has to be new, if it does not address real problem, gusto mo lang siyang iresearch, yes interested ka sa topic, however, you should tie it to a certain problem para magkaroon ng importance yung research mo. C. Kung ABM ka, dapat business topic, kung ICT ka, computer related topics or technology, STEM, science and technology, HUMSS about social sciences or community. Make sure that your rearch is in lined with the strand you are pursuing with.
  • #11 Sa research, hindi talaga natin maiiwasan, you really have to read. Hindi pwede yung tamad ka magbasa or ayaw mong magbasa. Kaya nga research eh, you are looking deep into a certain subject, questions, you are trying to find answers. Hindi pwede yung you only rely on what you already know. Or existing knowledge, hindi research yun. Sabi nga nila, "never test how deep the water with both of your feet." Magiging waste of time or effort siya. Kaya what do you do? You test the waters first. Wheter to pursue this product or not. Pwede ring sa make up. You have to put it to the test. To
  • #12 Yung problem mo, you are now starting now to put more emphasis and more specific. Ano ba ang demographic profile ng tao. His age or gender. Athlete (performance enhancing drugs or pain reliever). Kumbaga meron kang funnel, sinasala mo through questioning and all. At the end makikita mo na yung specific.
We have an activity a while ago, wherein you were be able to create your own title. So now, since meron ka nang interesting topic in mind regarding your chosen track, now you have to create a suitable and captivating title.
  • #16 Take note of the word “captivating”, sabi nga natin “first impression’s last”. If sa title palang, hindi mo na attract yung target readers mo, target viewers or target respondents mo, what makes you think na babasahin pa nila yung buong research mo? Yung title mo hindi nila nagustuhan eh, or yung title mo hindi specific, magulo. Or hindi makuha yung interes ng audience. Keep It Short and Simple Another point, research title can be changed, may mga students na kahit final defense na, nababago pa din yung title nila. Minsan pwedeng ibig sabihin nun ay papalitan mo yung major
