Moving
● Stressful
● Expensive
● Inefficient - Resources spread out

● Traditional Routes:
  ○ Buy packing supplies/Enlist friend's
    help/Rent a truck (U-Haul)
  ○ Find movers from local papers or flyers
Market Summary*
● People move at least once every 3 years
● People spend $200 on an average per move
● 60% of movers move in a 20 mile radius
● 70% of movers rely on local
    newspapers/flyers for move related info

● Market size - $16.5 billion (2008) shared
  between 17,000 businesses (http://www.promover.
    org/files/msi/msi_report.pdf)

(*Data collected from 108 survey respondents)
Opportunities

  marketplace

trucks, moving supplies can help people
move - for an affordable price

Like an AirBnB for moving!
What we do
● Hyperlocal marketplace connecting helpers
  and movers
● Allow users to price services and products
  reasonably
● Increase distribution points for local
  businesses and helpers
● Provide a knowledge base for movers to
  make moving "efficient"
What's our proposition
Value Proposition
Through the community, the 'moving experience' can be quicker, faster,
cheaper, and more responsible. We connect movers, helpers, and supplies
through our moving marketplace. Lot of services exist which are expensive,
stressful to manage, difficult to consolidate - we help you connect with people
who can consolidate these, and help you move for a fraction of the cost.

For example:
Jim Samaritan doesn't mind hauling 10 boxes, a futon and a book case for
Jane Damsel for a fraction of a price over the weekend. Jane is a student
moving to a new studio 5 miles away from her dorm and can't shell out $200 for
this. Better still, Jim saved up the boxes, duck tape and bubble wrap from his
previous move. 3 hours worth of work and he would charge just $75. Jim has
done this before and has good reviews on Mover's Edge!
Market research - Money spent on a typical move
           (108 survey respondents)
Competition
● U-Haul, Budget, Penske and other truck rental
    companies
● Private Moving companies - Typically charge upwards
of $65 per hour for 2 movers with a truck
● Other models
    ○ TaskRabbit,
    ○ Craigslist, etc
● What they lack?
    ○ Truck rental companies - too expensive
    ○ Craigslist and local movers - not reliable for lack of
        reviews
Financial Plan
● Costs
website & maintenance, server costs, customer acquisition, payment fees,
    insurance

● Expertise
    front-end & back-end development & maintenance, mobile app
development, customer acquisition - demand side, business development -
    supply side

● Revenue
    connection fee, promoted listing

● Metrics
    still to be developed
Risks
● Lack of traction
● Lack of interest
● Reliability of customer reviews
● Taskrabbit/Craigslist is the favored choice
● Liability issues
