The school IDEA VERONA is PLIDA Cer tification Center (Dante Alighieri Italian Language Project)
with authorization no. 111392 granted by the Headquar ters of the Dante Alighieri Society. The
PLIDA cer tificate attests to the competence of Italian as a foreign language according t o the six
proposed levels in the Common European Frame work of Reference for Languages of the Council of
Europe (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2).
The Dante Alighieri Society, founded in 1889 by a group of impor tant Italian intellectuals, aims to
“protect and promote the Italian language and culture in the world, reviving the spiritual ties
of compatriots abroad with the mother countr y and nur turing love and reverence for Italian
culture among foreigners.”
The PLIDA cer tificate has the following advantages:
- one may indicate more clearly their level of Italian knowledge on their resumes;
- one may enrol in an Italian university without taking the Italian exam (level B2 or C1);
- one may apply for long stay permission (minimum level A2)
