5. What is labour act?
• AN ACT to amend and consolidate the laws relating to labour,
employers, trade unions and industrial relations; is called Labour act
6. Dangerous operation-
• To declare which operations are hazardous .
• To prohibit the employment of women, adolescents or children in
such operation.
• To provide the regular medical examination of persons employed in
such operation .
• To give notice of any corrosive chemicals and precautions to be taken
in their use.
7. Notice to be given of any accident
• When any accident occurs in an establishment causing loss of life or
bodily injury the employer shall give notice of the occurrence to the
inspector within following 2 days.
10. Power to direct for enaquiry into cases of
accident or disease
• (1)In any accidental explosion , it may appoint a competent person to
hold such enquiry.
• (2)The person holding enquiry shall have all the powers all the powers
of a civil court.
• (3)The person holding enquiry may exercise any of the powers of an
inspector under this act.
• (4)The person shall submit a report to the government.
• (5)The government shall publish the report at such time as may be
pescribed by it.
11. Power to take samples:
• 1.By giving information to the employer.
• 2.By Taking in the manner hereinafter describing a sample of any
substances.
• 3.providing the appliances for dividing and sealing and marketing the
samples.
• 4.Giving one portion of the samples to the employee forthwith and
sending another portion to the government analyst for analysis.
• 5.using report as an evidence in any proceedings instituted in respect
of such substances.
12. Power of inspector in case of certain danger
Prohibiting the extraction or reduction of pillar
By an order in writing containing a statement of the ground of his
opinion
If the employer is aggrieved by order under sub section(3) ,may with
in 10 days of the receipt of the order ,appeal against the same to the
chief inspector

17. First Aid Appliances
• In every establishment the first aid box or cup board -
• 1. Equipped with the contents prescribed by rules shall be provided
readily all working hours

• Shall not be less than one for every 150 (one hundred and fifty )
workers ordinarily employed.

• 90A constitution of safety committee - In every factory where 50 or
more workers are employed, there shall be a safety committee to be
formed and functioned in the manner prescribed by rules.
25. Maintenance of Safety Record Book
• In every factory or establishment, where more than 25 workers are
employed, a compulsory safety record books shall be maintained and a
safety information board shall be exhibited in the manner prescribed
by rule.
30. Canteen
Prescribe the standard of construction, accommodation, furniture
and other equipment of the canteen.
Provide for constitution of a managing committee for the canteen
and for representation of the workers in its management.

• 1.Adequate and suitable number of rest room and lunch room.
• 2. Sufficient light and ventilation.
• 3.Separate rest room of female.

• 1.Suitable rooms provide and maintain for the children.
• 2. Adequate accommodation, light,ventilation and also clean and
sanitation condition.
