Chelsea Fritts often brings her toddler daughter to class when her regular daycare is closed with no notice. While most professors do not allow children in class, Fritts' professors are understanding of her situation since campus childcare is too expensive. Her classmates enjoy when the daughter attends and she is well-behaved, only occasionally distracting other students. Despite some stigma, over a quarter of college students are parents, many non-traditional older students returning to further their education after starting a family. For Fritts, bringing her daughter is not a burden but a positive experience of continuing her education while spending time with her daughter.
