Note:
• Textbooks are not included in the number of items you can
  borrow from the library
• Books are loaned out for 2 weeks
• DVDs & VCDs are loaned out for 1 week
• Back issues of magazines can be loaned out for 3 days
Fines, renewals & returns
 All borrowed items must be renewed or returned at the
  library counter. Just hand over the item and wait till a library
  staff tells you that you’re cleared.

 You can renew an item as many times as you like provided:
   You bring the item to the library to renew on or before the due
    date &
   No one else has reserved that item


 Any item that is returned late will incur a fine of 20 cents per
  day.

Can be accessed via the school’s web page under Quick Links or directly at
http://library.uwcsea.edu.sg

If you need help on using the catalogue either ask a library staff or look at the Catalogue
Tutorial which is available online.
Finding a book
 You need 2 pieces of information to find an item in the
  library. The first is the item’s Call Number and the second is
  its title.
 For fiction books, the call number is made up of 2 parts. The
  first is F for teen reads or YA for young adult and the second
  is the first 3 letters of the author’s last name.
 All fiction books are shelved in the same section and
  arranged according to the first 3 letters of the author’s last
  name e.g.
  F CAB for a book by Meg Cabot and YA GRI for a book by
  John Grisham and
Finding a book
 The call number for nonfiction books are also made up of
  different parts. The first is the PREFIX which will tell you in
  which collection the book is located, the second is its
  DEWEY number and the third is the first 3 letters of the
  Author’s last name. E.g. TLS 283.092 CRO

 This call number tells you that the book
  is located in the TRUE LIFE STORIES section, its call
  number is 283.092 and that the first 3 letters of the authors
  last name starts with CRO
Checking your library account
You can check your library account by going to

• http://library.uwcsea.edu.sg and
• clicking on the link to the Dover Secondary Catalogue.
• Then click the login button on the top right hand corner to
  enter your username and password.
• Select the ‘My info’ tab to see the list of books that you have
  checked out.
• You will also be able to Make book recommendations to your
  friends and check on the fines you might have to pay.
