Dinosaurs had diverse diets, with some eating meat, others eating plants and fruit, and most being omnivores. They reproduced through nesting and egg-laying, often placing nests close together. A meteor strike is believed to have killed most dinosaurs, while others died from volcanic eruptions or climate changes of the ice age. Scientists now believe dinosaurs were warm-blooded given they inhabited cold areas and could generate their own body heat.
Here are 3 interesting facts about dinosaurs from the passage:
1. The largest dinosaur was likely the Brachiosaurus, which could grow up to 80-85 feet long and weigh around 80 tons. Some other dinosaurs like Seismosaurus may have been larger but only partial skeletons have been found.
2. Scientists estimate dinosaurs could have lived up to 150 years based on growth rings in their teeth, though this lifespan estimation is not certain.
3. Despite the huge size of some dinosaurs, their eggs were relatively small - even the eggs of the gigantic Sauropods were no bigger than volleyballs. Thicker shells posed problems for the hatchlings to breathe and be pushed out of the shell
This document describes a Year 1 treasure hunt activity where students searched for clues to learn dinosaur facts with help from parents, playing the role of archaeologist Peter to find clues that were either easy to find or a long way away, taking a drink and snack break before parents stayed to participate in classroom activities.
This document discusses several perspectives on dinosaurs and their relationship to biblical accounts of creation:
- It questions whether God created dinosaurs and if they co-existed with humans, referencing theories of dinosaurs dying out 65 million years ago versus interpretations allowing for dinosaurs surviving later.
- It examines biblical passages like Genesis and references to behemoth and leviathan that some argue could refer to dinosaur species. Fossil and archaeological evidence is presented arguing for human-dinosaur co-existence.
- Ultimately it concludes that while certain details are unknown, the Bible affirms God created all life and mankind holds a special place, with dinosaurs likely on the ark with Noah or becoming extinct later.
Dinosaurs lived millions of years ago before humans existed. They came in a wide range of sizes from as small as a chicken to over 30 meters long. While no one knows for sure what dinosaurs sounded like or their colors, fossils provide evidence that they were reptiles that hatched from eggs and included both herbivores and carnivores. Some of the largest dinosaurs described include Brachiosaurus, Diplodocus, and Tyrannosaurus Rex, while smaller ones discussed are Stegosaurus, Iguanodon, and Triceratops. Fossils are what provide scientists information about dinosaurs since they became extinct millions of years ago before humans.
These crafts include instructions for making various creatures and objects out of shells, beans, rocks, and other natural materials:
1) Shell creatures are created by gluing shells, beads and clay into animal shapes like koalas, rabbits, and other sea creatures.
2) A magical bean mosaic involves gluing colored beans onto a canvas board in a drawn design or pattern.
3) Rock frogs are made by gluing rocks together and adding small stone features like eyes and feet before painting them.
This document provides lesson ideas for teaching about the folktale "The Mitten" through various activities in different subject areas. It includes suggestions for language arts activities like sequencing the story and acting it out with masks. For science, ideas are given for predicting how many animals can fit in the mitten and exploring camouflage. Art projects incorporate designing mittens and decorating items with mitten transfers. Background information is also provided on the different animals in the story.

Intro: Cedar Treasure Chest
This is a simple project that can be completed in an afternoon. Tools that I used are as follows ( not all are necessary, use what you have available!):
- chisels and mallet
- drill press
- table saw
- sand paper
- wood glue and tack nails
- router ( I did not have one but this tool is a great asset)
- treasure and lots of it to fill your chest
- trust worthy treasure guardian
Step 1: Ripping the lid and marking the template
To start this project off, I first ripped a 1/2" inch off my 4x4 piece of cedar using the table saw. This will act as my lid. I also marked a square in the center of my soon to
be box where I will begin hollowing. I measured 1 inch in from the ends and a 1/2 inch in on the sides to give me a nice sized template for where the box will be drilled
out.
Step 2: Hollowing the box out
Next we are going to use the drill press and a 1 1/2" forsner bit to hollow out the inside of the block. Make sure you set the drill press to drill to a consistent depth,
I chose a 1-inch depth from the bottom. Try doing all 4 corners first and then work your way into the middle of the block.

The toys are designed to stimulate children's imagination and skills while using sustainable materials.
1) Build a shelter by forming an angular shape with branches and logs for stability and protection, such as a lean-to built against a large rock or log.
2) Quickly consider all survival options and the best course of action. Make a fire using a magnifying glass or glasses to focus sunlight on dry tinder.
3) Set a trap if unable to hunt, such as a pit trap with sharp branches at the bottom covered with thin branches across the top.
The educator led several dinosaur-themed explorations with children to develop their social skills and learning. During a sensory bin activity, children worked together to find dinosaur bones hidden in rocks and assemble the skeletons. A book reading and habitat-building activity allowed for self-expression. When making dinosaur fossils from play dough, open-ended questions from the educator helped children explore and problem-solve. Overall, the explorations supported the children's sense of belonging, expression, well-being and engagement through play-based learning in areas like visual arts, health, and science.

2. First- some dinosaur
Did
facts!
you know? Triceratops and T-Rex
shared the same home – the forest of
North America 65 million years ago.
This would mean that the T-Rex may
have preyed on the triceratops
although, with their horned head, the
triceratops would have put up a big
fight.
3. 1. Look the part with T-REX FEET!
If you are stuck, ask an adult to help
you, especially with the glue and cutting.
What you’ll need:
tissue boxes
duct tape
paint
kitchen sponge
Wood glue/glue paste
4. Instructions
1. Your tissue boxes must be empty.
2. Use duct tape to reduce the size of the opening and to
reinforce the ankle area, seen below.
3. Cover the exposed duct tape inside the box with more
tape.
4. Paint the boxes in any way you like! But remember to
let them dry.
5. Cut 6 claws from a kitchen sponge and make them
triangles. Wet the sponge to make it easy for you to cut!
5. Dino-Fact Time
Did you know? Along with Stegosaurus and Tyrannosaurus Rex was
one of three dinosaurs that inspired the Godzilla Movie.
6. Fossil cookies- because you have to
snack too.
Ingredients:
1 cup walnuts, toasted
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
Salt
2 sticks unsalted butter, room temperature
3/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons icing’ sugar
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
Insects and dinosaur plastic figurines
7. How to make them:
Grind the nuts in a food processor until they are fine. Then put them in a
bowl and use a whisk to mix in the flour and ½ tsp of salt.
Beat the butter, sugar and vanilla with a mixer on high speed until it
looks pale and fluffy. Then beat the mixture on a low speed. Add the
walnuts.
Make balls out of the dough. They should be about 4 cm big. Then press
them into stone shapes with your palms. It’s okay if they look weird,
stones are not perfect! Then place them on a lined baking sheet.
Dust the figurines in flour and use them to make fossil shapes in the
dough. Freeze the dough for 20-30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Once hot, put the cookies in
the oven for half an hour and let them bake until they look golden brown.
Then put them a wire rack to cool down.
Now they are ready to be eaten.
8. Dino-Fact Time
Did you know? The only way we have of learning about dinosaurs is
by studying fossils. Fossils are the remains of ancient animals and
plants, the impressions of living thing from past eras. With
fossils, we can even see what they were doing! Fossils have been
found on every content on Earth.
9. Stegosaurus Puppet Show
With all the information you have learned about dinosaurs, why not hold your
very own dinosaur puppet show? You could even get someone to record it for
you on video and post it up on Youtube.
You and your friends can split into groups and create your own shows and
perform them for each other. Before you start scribbling down ideas, here is how
to make your own stegosaurus dinosaur puppet.
What you’ll need:
Socks of any colours or patterns you like
Googly eyes, you can get these from sewing shops
Red and black felt fabric
Different coloured pieces of felt
Scissors
Glue
Drinking glass
10. Instructions
Put the sock on your hand and wiggle it around so you can make the dino’s mouth with
your thumb.
Cut a piece of red felt in a triangle and make that the tongue. Glue it in place.
Glue the eyes on the sock on the top of your hand.
Cut out to small circles of the black felt to make the nose. Put the nose just below the
eyes.
Cut out triangles of any colour felt you like to make spikes for your dinosaur. You will
need 2 triangles for each spike. Glue the tops of the triangle together and leave the
bottom part open. This will allow you to glue the spike on the sock so it doesn’t fall
down.
Put some glue on the part of the sock where you want the spike to go and then press
the spike into place. Repeat until you feel your dinosaur has enough spectacular
spikes.
Cut a bit of the top of your sock to make 2 arms for your dinosaur. Shape the arms and
glue them on each side of the sock.
Let the glue on the dinosaur dry by placing him/her over the glass to dry.
11. One more fact and then it is partytime!
The Stegosaurus’ brain was the size of a walnut! And scientists
believe this herbivore swallowed rocks to help mash up food it ate
hundreds of kilograms of tough plants a day!
