How to Stay Warm in
Cold Winter Outside
This guide reveals how to stay warm in cold
winter outside. It is divided into two parts.
The first part includes 10 tips from experts.
The second part reveals a proven way to stay
comfortably warm even on the coldest winter
days.
Part 1
1. Wear several thin layers, not one thick layer.
This way warm air is trapped close to your body.
2. Most people need three layers: base layer for
warmth and moisture control (Merino wool), mid
layer for insulation (again, use Merino wool) and
outer layer is for weather protection (Merino-filled
insulator or Merino-lined shell).
3. Use clothes made from wool, cotton or fleecy
fabrics.
4. Wear a hat and scarf because a lot of heat is
lost through the head and neck.
5. Keep feet warm because hypothermia usually
begins in extremities. Wear sturdy, insulated
shoes.
6. Your body produces heat by burning food you
eat. Eat hot meals with carbs and fat.
7. Avoid alcohol because it decreases core
temperature. It also affects reflexes that control
body temperature, such as shivering.
8. Be physically fit but avoid being too thin
because body fat keeps you warm.
9. Keep in mind that some drugs for high blood
pressure can make you more sensitive to the
cold. The same is true for certain medical
conditions, such as hypothyroidism.
10. Get moving while outside in order to get the
blood circulating faster around your body. This will
heat up your skin.
Part 2
Proven way to stay warm for hours every time you
go outside in the cold requires you to wear
battery heated clothing.
Heated clothing is powered by rechargeable
batteries and the amount of heat generated
depends upon the type and wattage of the
batteries used.
Heated clothing can also be used indoors to
reduce utility bills.
Here are different types of battery heated clothing
available:
Heated Gloves
Heated Glove Liners
Heated Mittens
Heated Slippers
Heated Insoles
Heated Socks
Heated Jacket
Heated Vest
Heated Pants
Heated Base Layer
Heated Scarf
Heated Hat
