come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for
building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace
to those who hear.
3. [SEASON WITH SALT - Colossians 4:6] Let your speech
always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may
know how you ought to answer each person.
4. [AVOID CARELESS WORD - Matthew 12:36] I tell you,
on the day of judgment people will give account for
every careless word they speak.
5. [AVOID TALKATIVE - 1 Corinthians 15:33] Don’t be
decieved, bad company ruins good morals.
6. [GUARD IT - Psalm 39:1] I said, “I will guard my ways,
that I may not sin with my tongue; I will guard my
mouth with a muzzle, so long as the wicked are in my
presence.”
7. [BE SOFT - Proverbs 15:1-2] A soft answer turns away
wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. The tongue of
the wise commends knowledge, but the mouths of fools
pour out folly.
8. [RESTRAIN IT - Proverbs 17:27] Whoever restrains his
words has knowledge, and he who has a cool spirit is a
man of understanding.
9. [BE SILENT - Proverbs 17:28] Even a fool who keeps
silent is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is
deemed intelligent.
