Parable of tax collector and pharisee

1. The Parable of the Pharisee and Tax Collector [Luke 18:9-14]
DON’T BE PROUD and DON’T LOOK DOWN on others
Jesus also told this parable to some who were confident
that they were righteous and looked down on everyone
else.
“Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a
Pharisee and the other a tax collector.
The Pharisee stood and prayed about himself like
this:
‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people:
extortionists, unrighteous people, adulterers—or
even like this tax collector.
I fast twice a week; I give a tenth of everything I get.’
The tax collector, however, stood far off and would
not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and
said,
‘God, be merciful to me, sinner that I am!’
I tell you that this man went down to his home
justified rather than the Pharisee.
For everyone
who exalts himself will be humbled,
but he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

2. பரிசேயன் மற்றும் வரி சேகரிக்கும் நபரின் உவமம [லுhக்கா 18:9-14]
பபருமம சவண்டாம்; தாழ்வான மற்றவர்கமை பார்க்காதீர்கள்
தாங்கள் சநர்மமயானவர் என்று நம்பி
மற்றவர்கள் இகழ்ந்து ஒதுக்கும் ேிலமைப் பார்த்து
இசயசு இந்த உவமமமயச் போன்னார்;
"இருவர் இமறவனிடம் சவண்டக் சகாவிலுக்குச்
பேன்றனர். ஒருவர் பரிசேயர், மற்றவர்
வரிதண்டுபவர்.
பரிசேயர் நின்று பகாண்டு, இவ்வாறு
இமறவனிடம் சவண்டினார்;
"கடவுசை, நான் பகாள்மையர், சநர்மமயற்சறார்,
விபோைம் சபான்ற மற்ற மக்கமைப் சபாலசவா
இந்த வரிதண்டுபவமை சபாலசவா இல்லாதது
பற்றி உமக்கு நன்றி பேலுத்துகிசறன்;
வாைத்தில் இரு முமற சநான்பிருக்கிசறன்;
என்வருவாயில் எல்லாம் பத்திபலாரு பங்மகக்
பகாடுக்கிசறன். "
ஆனால் வரிதண்டுபவர் பதாமலயில் நின்று
பகாண்டு வானத்மத அண்ணாந்து பார்க்கக்கூடத்
துணியாமல் தம் மார்பில் அடித்துக்பகாண்டு,
"கடவுசை, பாவியாகிய என்மீது இைங்கியருளுமம்"
என்றார். “
இசயசு, "பரிசேயைல்ல, வரிதண்டுபவசை
கடவுளுமக்கு ஏற்புமடயவைாகி வ ீடு திரும்பினார்.
ஏபனனில்
தம்மமத் தாசம உயர்த்துசவார் தாழ்த்தப்பபறுவர்;
தம்மமத்தாசம தாழ்த்துசவார் உயர்த்தப் பபறுவர்"
என்றார்.
