Use a hole
         drill
   to fit the
 float valve
     into the
inside of the
      bucket.

make a rubber washer from
   a bit of old rubber
fit the rubber washer
onto the float valve
slide it on
Fit it through
   the hole ...
screw on the
    lock nut
tighten it
so the water
        can’t
       escape
this is fun
Use treadtape to make
a water-tight seal.
on this end of the
threaded rod
I use a “Hansens fitting
                       ”
to a 9 mm garden hose
tighten it firmly
attach the garden hose




                then turn on
                     the tap
Yes. It’s filling.
When it has filled,
   mark the full
line on the bucket
Drill 5 or 6
big holes just above
the water-line
Your hens will
put their heads
in these holes.
