A couples-only party isn’t something
that’s done every year or with a sense of
regularity. But it’s surely lled with
laughter, inside jokes, and things that,
well, couples are so fond of doing for
fun. So how should it be planned and
executed properly for best results? Here
are some tips.

There are several ways to invite couples
to the party. Send a handwritten card
that states the basic W’s (what, where,
when, etc.) or send text messages
containing a brief message about the
party details. Make it funny and
lighthearted, and put something in there
that will make them not miss out on the
fun.
Party theme
This part may entail a lot more thinking
and planning but know what theme
you’d love your party to have. Think it
over carefully because it will re ect in the
décor, the menu, and the overall vibe of
the event. It could be Valentine’s theme,
a speed dating theme, or a Hollywood or
‘70s party. Align the theme with the
guests’ general shared interests or
common ground.
Food and dining setup
Buy or prepare the right kind and
amount of plates, glasses, and utensils –
your local department store should be
able to provide plenty of a ordable yet
quality choices. Plan the right menu for
the theme, making sure there’s an
appetizer, main course, and dessert at
the very least. If it’s a potluck, assign a
dish to avoid repetition or have a pair
bring the bottle of wine or drinks.

Mood and music
It could be jazz music beautifully playing
in the background, or some hip urban
tunes that set the party mood. Arrange
for the music to be in tune with the
theme, and make sure to plan after-
dinner activities or cocktails, depending
again on the chosen theme.
