exploration.

SCULPTURE: IMAGINATIVE ARCHITECTURE
Emerging Artisans will tap into their imaginations to create
innovative architectural structures. Students will have the
opportunity to construct their vision using a variety of materials
including: papier-mâché, paper, cardboard, paint, wood, metal, and
plastic. Students will learn how to make humble materials look
expensive by using a variety finishes and texturizing techniques.

OBSERVATIONAL & IMAGINATIVE DRAWING
Youth Artisans will learn how to closely observe objects and space to
create dynamic and imaginative drawings. This class will explore
different types of drawing techniques. Approaches to composition,
perspective, and space will also be taught to build confidence in
rendering drawings from life and from the imagination.

EXPRESSIVE DRAWING
Emerging Artisans will explore a wide variety of drawing approaches
and techniques. Students will use creative expression to create
drawings from both observation and the imagination. Students will
have the opportunity to experiment with a wide variety of media from
charcoal and markers to collage and colored pencils.

SCULPTURE: ARMATURE & OBJECT
Youth Artisans will explore the process of creating a large scale
sculpture inspired by an ordinary, everyday object. Students will learn
to design and create a sound wire structure by constructing a scale
model. Next they will use paper pulp to add 3D form to their
structures. To finish the piece, students will use various painting
techniques to add further dimension and detail to their creations.
