Most Homes Include Some
Automated Devices
• Thermostat
• Sprinkler Clock
• Alarm System
• Light Timer

These devices are standalone and only represent part of a fully automated
and integrated system.


These Automation Devices Are
Adequate for Some But…
• All configure and operate differently
• Have no central interface, not integrated
• Offer no remote access
• Do not annunciate events and alarms online
• Lack historical data recording ability
• Are not scalable, added functionality not
possible
• Are not as robust as industrial devices
• Only represent a part of automatable systems

My Decision to Automate
