January 1st New Years Day First day of the new year. Make a New Years revolution!
February 14th Valentine’s Day The day off love. Red roses  and chocolate are given to females from males along with greeting cards. 189 million stems of roses are sold on valentines day.
March 17th St. Patrick's Day Celebrated for the patron saint of Ireland died on this day in 461 AD. Celebrate Irish culture. Wear green! You might get pinched!!
April 1st April Fools Day Don’t know how or when it started. Can be as simple as saying “your shoes are untied.” It could be a little worse like tapping the kitchen sprayer down so when the water comes on it sprays everywhere. It always ends in the saying “April Fools!!”
April 4th	 Easter Christian holiday that celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Easter Bunny comes! Color eggs!
May 9th Mothers Day First Mother’s Day in the united States was in 1914. Third most popular holiday in the world. Special flower is a carnation.  Honor y0ur mother and spend time with her!
May 31st Memorial Day A way to remember our patriotic heroes who passed away to make us free. First celebrated on May 30th 1868. Flag must be at half-staff until noon and then put all the way back up.
July 4th Independence Day On July 4th 1776 the Declaration was approved. Fireworks were not part of the celebration, candles were. Around 150 million hot dogs will be consumed on this day.
September 6th Labor Day Celebrate the working people. (16-older) First Monday in September. First celebrated September 5th 1894
October 31st Halloween  Correctly spelt as Hallowe’en “Trick or Treat!”  Get lots of candy!!
November 11th Veterans Day Once called Armistice Day. Celebrates the people that survived the wars.
November 25th Thanksgiving First celebrated in 1621 by the Pilgrims. The last Thursday in November. Lots of parades, football and of course food!!!
December 24th Christmas Eve Hang stockings. Sing Christmas carols. Eggnog. Avoid the coil.  Spend time with family.
December 25th Christmas Day Happy Birthday Jesus.  Eat lots of food. Open presents. Spend time with family again!
December 31st New Years Eve The end of the year. Watch the ball drop. The ball was first made out of wood and iron and weighed 700 pounds.
