1. Hockey is a team sport, which is usually played outside.
The team has up to 16 players and 11 on the field. The aim of the
game is to score as many goals as you can. Hockey is played at
Riverbank arena in the 2012 London Olympic Games.
The Rules: Players use hooked-shaped sticks to advance a hard ball
towards their opponents’ goal. Matches are played in two halves of
35 minutes each. The team is made of attackers, midfielders and
defenders. Each team also has a goalkeeper. Substitutions can be
made at virtually any time, any number of times. To take a shot at
scoring a goal, players must be inside their opponents ’shooting
circle.
History: Men’s Hockey made its debut at the London 1908 games.
The first women’s Olympic hockey competition was held at the
Moscow 1980 games.
The men’s medal winners at the London 2012 Olympic games were
Germany got gold, Netherlands got silver and Australia got bronze.
For the Women’s competition Netherlands got gold, Argentina got
