Jehoshaphat was king of Judah from 873 BC to 849 BC. He started ruling at age 35 and was considered a good king who was liked by his people in Judea. Jehoshaphat made his life easier by allying himself with King Ahab of Israel, though he remained faithful to God and refusing to help the wicked when warned to do so. His name means "Yah has judged."
