You are a new administrator at a hospital, well known for pulmonary medicine. The
physicians in the ICU, the ER, and the department of pulmonary medicine have demanded
to meet with you about the shortage of respiratory therapists. You stall them for 48 hours
so you can gather data. What types of information will you need to collect to have an
intelligent conversation with this powerful group of physicians?
INTRODUCTION
• My hospital is well known for pulmonary
department but due to shortage of respiratory
therapists in our medical facility it directly
affects the quality of our patient care. I being the
administrator of this hospital will try to make it
easy to manage innovative recruitment methods,
our hospital guarantees that the most talented
respiratory therapists are part of our staff.
MY ROLE
• My role plays a vital role in this case as to meet
the requirements of my hospital n staff an
administrator plays an important role .
• I will listen to the complains and take into notice
all the information required to meet the incoming
staff needs.
• I will take this issue seriously and make the board
of directors to take immediate action.
• Motivation is highly required to bring out the best
outcomes:
• My job is to motivate and influence the physicians
and other staff to work hard will result in improved
performance
• Rewards for good performance and punishment for
underperforming employees
HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT:
• Human resource management is the function
within an organization that focuses on the
recruitment of, management of, and providing
direction for the people who work in an
organization.
REASONS TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT FOR
PROVIDING RESPIRATORY THERAPIST:
• 1. High quality and safety in service is ensured
• 2. Increasing patient satisfaction
• 3.Physicians -satisfaction, efficiency increased
• 4. Decreasing staff turnover rates
• 5. Correct the deficiency of team member
• 6. Attend to patient in time and hence prevent
negligence or malpractice
I recommend to provide respiratory therapist is an
improvement of quality healthcare service by the following
steps:
• Plan: objective- therapist necessary or not,
• Do: organization of data and get feedback
• Study: analyze and measurement of feedback;
• Act: provide Respiratory therapist.
CONCLUSION
• A respiratory therapist training is exclusive. We are
not just guest to pass by , but leach suckers to
ensure best result till the end of our capability of
providing best health care facility. They are
professionally trained in oxygen therapy and
pulmonary toiletry. I am going to provide respiratory
therapists to maintain safety of our patients. Because
‘health of my patient is my FIRST priority. ’
