(a) Professor Ralph V Locurcio, P.E., Director, Construction Management Program
(b) I have known Hamad for 2 years as a student in our Department and in my classes.
Potential to (1) succeed in graduate school or professional practice, (2) solve problems,
(3) communicate effectively, and (4) work cooperatively with peers.
(a) Based on my observation of Hamad’s performance in classroom work in both objective and
abstract reasoning situations I believe he is well qualified to succeed in professional practice. He
is a good listener and is easily coached and therefore learns quickly and eagerly from each and
every assignment. His work is always done in a very professional manner often exceeding my
requirements.
(b) Hamad is an organized and self-directed student. He always has a prioritized plan for his studies
and homework. He keeps track of assignments, turns them in on time and monitors his
performance in a very systematic way. I believe these traits, coupled with his insight and
creativity will serve his extremely well in terms of managing tasks as a professional
construction manager. He will work very well with clients.
(c) Several activities in my classes require team solutions to classroom exercises and homework.
Hamad is a team player in every sense of the word. He is a hard worker who always does his
share to achieve the common objective. In many instances he also displays a strong capability
for team leadership. He works very well with peers and supervisors alike. I have never observed
him to be an obstacle to team performance.
(d) In comparison to other senior undergraduate students in my classes I would say that Hamad
Almahamed is clearly above average. He is extremely attentive in class, curious and
professional in all of his assignments. He is disciplined, systematic and thorough in his approach
to the investigation and solution of problems, making it very easy to monitor his progress and
understand his solutions.
In summary, I have every confidence that Hamad Almahamed will be an outstanding civil
engineering professional.
