2. Origins of Halloween
Halloween began over 3000 years ago, started by the Celts (warrior
people who inhabited parts of Ireland, England, Scotland and
France.) Just on 31 October, the Celts celebrated the end of the
year. With European immigration to the United States, of the
Irish in 1846, came the tradition of Halloween to America. The
festive celebration was not always: the rites that were practiced were
very religious.

• In England, Halloween is celebrated traveling around London,
Manchester, Liverpool and other major cities. The tradition of
trick or treating'''' is very similar to that of the Americans, but
children get gifts playing games.

• The tradition of the United States is very similar to others
children dress up and go out to look for candy. It is the famous:

5. Superstitions
• Superstitions were created in the British Isles. People believe
that on New Year's Eve a few evil spirits appeared to reveal on
the last night and the village people needed protection. They
thought clovers, leprechauns and the horses gave good luck.
Another well-known superstition is the Jack o 'Lantern, that the
evil spirits away

• 1.Use masks on Halloween, comes from the belief that they could
chase away evil spirits.
