7. Procedure Of Hair Transplant
• STEP 1:- Donor area is trimmed
Prior to surgery, the hair in donor area that will besurgically
removed is trimmed.
• STEP 2:-Donor tissue is removed
The donor tissuecontaining the bald resistant hair follicles is
then surgically removed.
8. • STEP 3:-Donor area is sutured
The donor tissue containing the bald resistant hairfollicles
is then surgicallyremoved.
• STEP 4:-Hair combed oversutures
When patient’s hair is combed over the donor areathe
sutures are not visible.
9. • STEP 5:-Donor tissue is trimmed into follicularunit
grafts
Surgical technicians then use microscopes to viewthe
donor tissue in order to dissect and prepare follicular
units hair grafts.
STEP 6:- Incisions are madein the balding areas
Tiny incisions are made in the recipient areas in irregular
patterns that mimic nature. The follicular unit grafts will
then be placed carefully into these tinyincisions
10. •STEP 7:- Grafts are placed into the incisions Follicular
unit grafts are gently placed into therecipient
incisions.
STEP 8:- Patient immediately after hair transplant
After having hair transplant surgery, apatient will have
hundreds of tiny incisions with short hair stubbleshowing
from the new grafts.
11. Limitations of hair transplant
• Limited amount of hairs genetically resistant to hair loss in the donor area.
• Particular to follicular unit extraction (FUE) surgery, donor hairs can be taken
• Large bald areas that patients desire to have covered cannot be transplanted
• Insufficient density of transplanted hair
• The need for repeat hair transplants due to continued hair loss
• Hair transplant does not stop hairthinning.
