Green Collar conducted food waste recycling demonstrations with lunch box wastes from one school (100kg) and wet market wastes from 8 stalls (200kg) in Hong Kong. The wastes were mixed with nutrients, wood husks, and mineral stones in a bed to promote bacteria decomposition, which absorbed odors over 8 days until no bad smells remained and meaty issues had decomposed, resulting in improved quality fertilizer. Green Collar aims to alleviate Hong Kong's food waste problem using a superior Taiwan technology to remove smells from well-sorted wastes over 100kg from companies.
